Quality thread this rofl & I thought it was just the 993 boys on 911uk that had these bh-fests hehe

It's a summers night, you've all got nice cars, take 'em out & enjoy yourselves for gawds sake!

(apart from mrdemon, he is excused as he has a poorly knee rofl )

I can't personally recall any threads that are not glowing references from those who have either bought or had dealings with the man or his company. Sure people who don't know him may have done, but I can't remember any such circumstances.
You should have clocked the GT2 thread.

Hi guys

I don't think 997.1 GT3's are worth any more than 40k, for a mint one, so anyone with a good one you best swap it with my Carrera S before 997 GT3's are worth sub 20k.

Any takers? biggrinwink

The protagonists are not important here, it's forum etiquette. I think slippy hit the nail on the head when he talked about the power of anonymity and the generalised baiting of other users etc. Henry has also made this point in the past.

There is no way people would talk to each other like this in real life is there?
And if you weren't posting anonymously presumably you wouldn't come on here and lie about the reputation of my business.

As a car dealer prepared to post openly I have attracted comments from people over the years mostly aimed at the motor trade in general and I am quite happy to enter into those debates. But I can't recall an occasion when someone has come on here and suggested we operate in an improper manner. That is what you were insinuating in your post. There was no other way to read it.

911virgin isn't just me these days. It's a team of people who work very hard indeed to build and maintain a reputation. To do the right thing when required. If only you knew the conversations which took place behind closed doors aimed solely at making sure we treat people fairly, the cars we have rejected because we weren't happy taking them into stock even though there was profit to be had.

In recognition of all the hard work my guys do and the commitment they show I won't stand by and have you insinuate we are somehow shady or underhand, especially when you choose to post under the cloak of total anonymity.

So to summarise for noobies who don't want to read 7 pages.

I talk down prices like bucket seats and want to keep my Spyder over a GT3 shock horror.
Slippy races on public roads smashed his Gt3 hitting his head and how has issues.
911v and Slippy are now in bed together.

Think that covers it , can we move on now as I dare not bring up bug pricing again.

I really don't know how to put this more simply. My opinion, that people have referred to you in a less than glowing fashion, is based on forum traffic. When I was researching the used Porsche dealerships in my area I found this thread, amongst overs

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

In my opinion, this thread contained some less than glowing references to you. I really can't spell this out any better. However, I do not insinuate that you are shady or underhand. I cannot fathom how less than glowing has metamorphosised into operating in an underhand manner. That's too big a leap, even for you.

If a dealer has. Less than glowing reputation it means they are dodgy. Simple as.

I bought and sold my first Porsche when I was 20. I am now 45. For a good while we have been selling 250-300 cars a year. Let's say 5,000 cars under our belt as a round number, and you found a thread about a handbrake pivot which gave up the ghost 10 months after we sold a car. To be fair it was a lot of happy customers and 1 man who's failure occurred 10 months later.

As I said previously there may well be people who didn't see eye to eye with me 10 years ago for what ever reason but 911virgin is 7 full time people these days all commited to doing the right thing, not just me working all hours god sent.

So to say we have a less than glowing reputation and by inference to insinuate that we are dodgy is, I still maintain wrong.

I recently sold a 996 GT3 Mk II to 911V. Found them great guys to deal with and they will certainly be offered my repeat business.

Thanks
And I purchased said car from 911V and gave them a glowing report in my thread in these very pages.

Just my 2p...

I have been on here for many, many years and I have never even been to or dealt with 911 Virgin in terms of a sale or purchase.

However, I have always thought that Henry has taken the time (and had the bottle) to give a clear voice on behalf of the specialist Porsche dealers, the general trading market and the pro`s and con`s of trade vs. private purchases.

Back to topic. Quite simply, the 996 GT3 Mk2 is not the `holy grail of all cars` to all drivers. In fact, I find mine really, really poor on most of our Berkshire roads, but get it on a smooth surface with no speed limit and nothing coming in the opposite direction and there is very little that can compare with the noise and smile factor!

Henry, if I may, and please don't take this personally....why do you post on this or any other forum as a representative (by default) of your company ?.

You are obviously successful, articulate and have have developed a good support team and business.

You will always have someone who is not happy for some reason, and a little bit of bad PR on a forum comes with the territory unfortunately.
Surely you can't believe that anyone who posts their feelings regarding some alleged issues they may have had dealing with you or any other business, are taken seriously by the vast majority on a 'forum' ?.

They just appear as a 'forum geek', who have no real case to answer or they would have been satisfied by way of previous conversations/negotiations with the Dealer, and have now decided to post on a 'forum' out of pure frustration.

The more responses offered, the more it will exacerbate the bad PR, and simply end up appearing as 'tit for tat' posturing from both sides IMO.
Again, I'm just curious.

After dealing with genuine under handed garages in the past 2 weeks looking for a M3 where LIES have been told directly - be it around service history, mileage or major issues with the car, the likes of 911v, RSJ et al are a shining beacon in an industry quite frankly laden with almost near, if not complete, criminality.

Wow there are a lot of sandy vaginas in here!

Go out and have a drive. The world is full of people to disagree with but battling each and every one of them is probably not the most satisfying endeavour, win or lose.
