Your "girlfriend" has no problems driving the GT3? So does she wear the trousers after your TT ownership experience?? yes

Maybe Slippydiff and Mr D would benefit from some Circle Time?

I drive the Mini now any way , she drives the GT3, even the Mini hurts my knee now the pain has come back and that has the lighest clutch.

But no she does not wear the trousers but is well fit :-), likes the buckets and the looks she gets driving a GT3 is pricless :-)

I fancy a PDK car atm and the Cayman R would do quite a good job of doing both the jobs of my other cars to free up some cash.

Why does the car have a track geo if it hasn't been tracked? Genuinely interested.

Good luck with the sale btw.

Thank's for your input smile

Two actually, what's your point ?
My reasons were somewhat different than an erroneous geo set up and "long gear ratios", ( which MrD has yet to clarify just how these long gear ratios have "ruined" his ownership experience)
Neither has he responded to my question about the condition of the clutch in his car. I suspect it's well past its best at 21K miles and thus heavy and in need of replacement. Something for any potential buyer to factor into the purchase of the car.

Nontheless, to want to move the car on SO quickly after purchasing it, one's left wondering if there's something more intrinsic wrong with it ?
Quite clearly you and MrD have issues, stemming from the GT3 at 911V thread?

However, I cannot see why he has to clarify his reasons for selling the car to you? And to then suggest that there maybe something wrong with the car for not doing so is frankly a little off colour.

To summarise your post in that thread:
1 I don't get track days
2 but I'm happy to drive like a tt on the public roads, until I came round a bend at 80mph, came off the road, wrote off the car, lucky to be alive.

You don't mention other vehicles or pedestrians, so hopefully no one else injured. The brush with mortality put you off GT3s so you sold it a subsequent purchase. I don't think anyone suggested there was something wrong with it from that point onwards?

Live and let live my friend, enjoy your new car and your lucky escape and allow MrD to sell his!

Clearly you can't. But having found yourself on the receiving end of it in this instance, perhaps you'll tread more carefully in the future ?

TO say some thing is wrong with the car is quite insulting and also quite rude imo.
Strangely enough, that's EXACTLY how I felt about the comments you made regarding the warranty, the tyres and the reason for my car being on SOR at 911V . . . .

How pathetic that you should dismiss your previously "unhelpful" comments about my car AND the dealer involved in its sale (and furthermore question both their ethics AND the content of their advert) as being acceptable, yet find it "insulting" when the same is done to you. A poor show (and judging by the various Emails/PMs I've received from others on here regarding the same subject, over the past few weeks, I'm not alone in thinking so)

You most likely do think it's "a bit off colour", but then you along with Mr D appear to have have had a sense of humour failure smile Strangely enough I thought he was being "a bit off colour" some weeks ago when I found myself in the same situation. Now I've decided a bit of gentle ribbing is in order. I note you weren't my "knight in shining armour" back then. What makes you choose to side with this individual now ? After all, what's good for the goose is good for the gander isn't it ?

Thankyou for bringing that up. And no there weren't any other persons present or injured.

I'm no knight in shining armour, I just don't understand your viewpoint here. In the original GT3 thread, started by Mr D, he questioned some aspects of a car for sale at a well known dealer that he wanted to clarify. The tyres provoked some debate. The owner of the car was anonymous at the time. The dealer, on the other hand, is well known on this forum and has not always enjoyed, how shall I put this, glowing references?

As soon as you explained the situation in your post Mr D was the first person to wish you well and then did not post again.
The car in this thread is not anonymous, you are deliberately hounding Mr D and posting random statements purely in a form of retaliation/revenge. Personally, I don't agree with this.

Mr D seems to have upset people over the years but your responses here do you no favours. I just think you need to let this go. It sounds like the accident has had a lasting effect on you, I'm sure you were talking about sabbaticals from PH at one point? Perhaps you should talk to someone?

I do apologise about the tt comment. I like to have fun on the road, I'm sure we all do but the risks in GT3s must be far higher with the speeds attained and to minimise risk for other road users, that much harder.

As I said, I wish you well......

The offer of Circle Time is still open . . .

While out for a lunch I saw a very tidy black 996 GT3 with PCCB - possibly the second best 996 GT3 in the whole of the UK!

Too much bad blood running through this thread.

Anyhow looks a really 'clean' GT3 - I reckon it will sell quite quickly.

Not good, I appreciate that your knee must be excruciating if you've descended to a Mini. redface

Sorry - couldn't resist - but agree that women in fast cars have a certain je ne sais quoi! biggrin

I think we both know there's more to it than that. The gentleman we're referring to does seem to have previously upset all and sundry with his frankly ludicrous valuations on 997 GT3s (amongst other things). But as he's pointed out, they're his opinions and he's entitled to express them.
But when many on here consistently question them (be they owners, past owners or potentatial owners), surely that's the time for some introspection and possibly to consider "changing the record" ?

I think that perhaps your comment "the owner of the car was anonymous" speaks volumes. PH seems to be more critical and more willing to "diss" any car that appears on the radar, than most forums (and in the past I admit I've probably been guilty of doing just that) It shouldn't matter whether the owner is a fellow PHer or not. His line of questioning appeared to be deliberately provacative. Had he initially asked if anyone knew the car up for sale at 911V, (or perish the thought, perhaps have rung them directly to ask the question, IF of course he was interested in buying the car) then I suspect others would have chimed in, and said individual could've avoided digging the hole for himself that he did.

AdYa said:

I'd suggest to you that the person in question had seen the error of his ways and decided that discretion was the better part of valor.

AdYa said:
and then did not post again.
If only that were true, he didn't drop it, on another thread he went on to accuse the staff at 911V and myself of colluding to sidestep the issue of the warranty being terminated in the event of the car being sold directly to 911V. Not content with that, he continued with his vitriolic spew and attempted to infer that their advert was misleading.

AdYa said:

And as I've said previously, personally I didn't like what he posted when my car was on SOR. Hopefully Mr D will think twice about placing his head above the parapet so recklessly in future.

AdYa said:

I find that remark a tad patronising (if I may say as much, without causing offence)

Indeed, using even a small percentage of the abilities of any performance car on the road comes with intrinsic risks. My mistake was not to take the advice given to me only two nights previously, seriously (that being to watch out for deer on the roads)

I wish you well too smile

Whoa there "AdYa".

These "less than glowing references" that you speak of......

How is it you can criticise someone who has suffered on here at the fingers of another when he turns the table on them and in your next breath accuse us of being less than honourable when I hope nothing could be further from the truth.

As far as I can recall we have enjoyed very positive feedback from our customers for which I am extremely grateful.

Thanks

Whoa Henry,

I thought I was being quite charitable there Henry. Certainly you have come in for some flak on these forums.....you must have a very selective memory I'd you don't think this is is the case?

And if you read my post carefully I do not suggest you have behaved dishonourably at any point. To be honest, I'm struggling to decipher your sentence. Do you mean suffered at the hands of another? And how did he suffer? That's a little strong, I think.

Not sure you were being charitable, sounded like you were tarnishing an excellent reputation and certainly at least it could be suggested with your comment he's done some 'dodgy deals'. Having been on the forum for a long time, aside from people discussing his cars in general, value, spec and normal thread stuff (and of course taking the piss out of Henry's boat and how much money a dealer must make wink ), I can't remember a single instance of negative 'flack' as you call it. If there has been ever any discussions Henry feels need to be addressed he is big enough and ugly enough to pipe up and discuss issues on a public forum, as has been seen.

I can't personally recall any threads that are not glowing references from those who have either bought or had dealings with the man or his company. Sure people who don't know him may have done, but I can't remember any such circumstances.

Having been a customer and met others who have purchased from 911V (and as I've said previously), OPC's and certain other dealers could learn a thing or two from the man and his team at 911V.

The protagonists are not important here, it's forum etiquette. I think slippy hit the nail on the head when he talked about the power of anonymity and the generalised baiting of other users etc. Henry has also made this point in the past.

There is no way people would talk to each other like this in real life is there?
