What we need is more buyers to buy the entry level, non-S model, preferable with manual gearbox for mid 70's then, so there'll be a ready supply of those 2nd hand in a few years time for the less rich of us!
there's only been 1 on PH that I can remember.

I had a 991 C2 cab manual last weekend. Did 500 miles or so on Welsh mountain roads. Despite the Sunday rain, it was great fun.

The 991 performed very well, in my amateur 911 hands. Had plenty of power, excellent handling and ride. It also lets you know when things were getting close to the limit by the car 'floating' a bit when pushing on hard, as well as the steering also 'lightening'. Very much a car that is 'alive', and which talks to you. Great car. On Sunday, I had got the hang of braking on corner entry, and accelerating hard out of corners. Much fun.

I broke the brakes in properly .. on Saturday they seemed to lack bite, on Sunday, they were near perfect. Mind you, it only had 1100 miles when I picked it up!

Those who say that the 991 is not a real 911 are wrong .. they just need to tick fewer option boxes.

Yes, it does doesn't it. Nothing major, but a few irritating minor issues which as far as I can make out are nothing to do with it being a new model. I'm off to the OPC again this morning to do some testing with them and hopefully I'll have it back by the weekend. On the bright side though, I am putting the miles on their cars rather than mine and it's been a long time since I've needed to make my own coffee.
Are you not a teensy bit hacked off though?
Or does the 'free' coffee, croissants and an ogle of the service receptionists breasts pacify you?
It's frustrating, but it's my experience that when buying brand new cars sometimes it's necessary to get a few snagging issues dealt with. My 997 was 3 years old when I got it and there were a couple of "997 known issues" that the previous owners had not had sorted out.

To be fair to Nottingham OPC they seem genuinely concerned to get the car right for me.

I haven't been offered croissants or the opportunity to ogle the receptionits breasts and I think it might be considered impolite to ask.

Well, you may not have asked but I saw you (i presume it was you getting into a white 991 at around 3;30pm) sitting on the sofa having a chat to Debbie(?).

Your eyes must have almost been at boobie level.

I would have come and said hello, but you were engrossed....

Not me Zyp. I was last seen there at about 10.30 this morning and I was in the Range because the Boxster S they've lent me is no fun when its raining; like a not very well appointed tent.

Ah ok.
There's another white C2S running about with a small, balding, paunchy 50 something chap in it.

Apologies - I automatically thought it was you.

Not me, though oddly you did come up in conversation this morning. I told Debbie that I was having problems with droning from what I presumed to be a dodgy tranny. She immediately assumed I'd been stuck in conversation with you.

I think he was on the way to Sinbad Tool Hire. Something about hiring some 'ear-defenders' and roof noise ??

I like to think of it as driving considerately, unlike you 911 hooligans that give all Porsche owners a bad name.

Aye, I may have been on my way to put highlights in Phooeys hair about 3 ish.
