Carlos Harper said: Actually ive seen this car. It was being advertised at a Motorhome dealer in essex for 55k. On further investigation it was an RS shell but a regular 964 engine. Well set up but it aint 55k!

I don't know that particular car, but the 964 RS's engines were blueprinted and had an extra 10bhp over the standard 964's.

There is no easy way of checking the actual engine number, only the code year. Not a big deal though as there is no difference in the engine of a C2 and an RS.

You can read the engine number easy enough Rob to check it and although I agree that a regular 964 engine is not going to have an effect on the performance, I agree with Bridey that without the original matching engine the value of an RS will be severely effected. Simply because the 964RS is firmly in the collectors/investment category these days.

If that's the case I'll only give 24 Sheep, 16 Cows, 12 Chickens, 8 Goats, 4 Dogs, 2 Horses.
The slightly irate Baboon with touretts was worth the extra 10 bhp.

lol, correct it is not original. Saying that any RS with a rebuilt motor or repaint is not 'origin' either.
As for checking the matching numbers I would ask how the check was done 'cos it isn't listed anywhere in the paperwork or build sticker.

The photo of the car has been altered a tad when you look at the background.
