come and do a evening session there, gives you a heads up, and not so hard on the car ragging it for a full day.
I'll do a few evenings there in June.

I thought you bought the GT3 for track use? I'll be getting two days track insurance included in my renewal this year so hopefully will also get mine on track in the summer ( if I've not changed it for something better by then). Eta - you did better in the Spyder than the TT, then.

Yes I did better in the Spyder which shocked a few people, as I went with a 2 TTRS owners and beat there times on the day :-) I bought the GT3 as my daily road car to replace the TTRS, i'll track the Spyder, sounds a bit backwards lol

Interesting table there. Of course driver ability must come into it.....but an RS5 ahead of 2 modded E46 CSL, you don't expect that on track do you?

The driver was Roger Green, presumably the racer/journo from evo.
(Also the RS5 is a ridiculously quick car).

I was there the day Roger green did it, must have put in a good lap. but how mnay laps has he done there, loads..
as for the top cars people turn up with slicks, which sort of ruins the format/event for me, imo cars should be road legal.
As you can see a lot of the times are Pro racing drivers, while the rest of use just go for a laugh. I think the top GTR is 900BHP with slicks, so when you look at that time, it's not than impressive imo.

Raitzi said: mrh1275 said: The 981 is NOT faster or lighter than a Spyder You may be right. Porsche claims 7:58 for new Boxster S at ring but they also claimed 7:56 for cayman R but that was not ever proved. Sport-auto ran just over 8 minutes in the R both with semi-slicks and standard tyres. No PCCB. The 7:56 time is probable but it would have needed a specific car spec to get it there, same with the 991, 981 and Spyder times, this is why alot of times Porsche quotes are not reproducible by the magazines.

Phooey said: What do you think a good driver would do in a Spyder? 1.22s possible? A good driver you say, I would say a 1.26 :-) Do you mean a Pro driver, or are you just having a laugh :-) EVO have their time listed as a 1.24.7 and they can straight line the corners by loads which is worth a bit of time. the "how fast" event has red cones on every apex and every curb, so the tracks much tighter and slower than when EVO do their times for the mag. So no a 1.22 is not possable at the how fast event on road tyres who ever is driving. of course R spec tyres would gain you some time, a better geo again would gain you some time, and also doing a few laps to get the hang of the track abit more.
