Have posted this question on the maserati page and got several responses.

Basically I can either buy a 2000 Masser 3200GT or squeeze into a 1999 911

Have driven both and undecided, how do servicing costs stack up? Your views would be appreciated. Thanks

When I was in the market I had a look far and wide as to what my budget would stretch to.

The 3200's style and performance did appeal but the servicing costs didn't. Also the level of depreciation these cars suffer was quite high up the top of the cons list. Saying that, and depending on who you speak to, 996s are expected to take a bit of a nose dive when deliveries of the 997 are made. There's been a few threads on this so it's worth having a look.

If you've got deep pockets (or a full whack warranty) and need a practical coupe go for the Maser, if you want something a bit more focused and don't need to carry more than 2 passengers buy the 996.

I've driven the 3200 Mazzer-----V.dissapointed, had pleanty of power but felt wooden, the closesed 911 I've driven was a 3.2SS which was much more fun, if not quite as brutal with the power but sooooo much more feel, even managed to get 2 small adults in the back.....
If I had £40K to spend it would not be on the Trident car....

My heart would say Maserati but my head says 911.

I you read the various reviews, the 911 comes out as a better all round car. Depends on what you want it for really. Once bitten, forever……and all that!

Thanks guys and gals my chioce after driving both is the porsche.

The masser had bags of power but only felt stable in a straight line!!!

The porsche is much more stable and you feel part of he car when driving.
