Evening Gents,

my 7.1GT3 decals are beginning to get a little edgy in places and thought, before I have them replaced would ask opinions on the following;

I've always been a sucker for stripes and the 4.0 stripes/side decals are stunning.

You all probably know where this is going!

My thoughts were to have the same decals, but CLEARLY marked as GT3 ONLY. Would this make me look like a 'wannabe'? I HATE looky likies and would never dress my car up to be something that it isn't.

My other thoughts were the gloss black wheels are a bit of work to keep nice and thought about having them done grey to tie in with the new decals would work well.

Any input (good or bad!) would be appreciated.

Stevie

I say keep the decals for Le Mans only.

The rest of the year, sans decal. It really doesn't need it.

It's your car so it only really matters what you think but as you asked.....

IMHO I can't stand the stripes on the 4.0 RS, to me they ruin the look of the car.

Yours will not only, look the same to those that share my dislike for the stripes but will to many make you look like a 'Wannabe'.

Which would be a real shame when your in a car that is awesome in its own right.

If you want to change the decals come up with something original or better still lose the stickers altogether!

Okay guys,

thanks for that. I suppose its really just changing for changing sake. Not to enhance it in anyway.

Funny thing is, when I was looking for one, I didn't like the cars with decals. Now I have one, I prefer them. Go figure!!?

I'd lose the black wheels in a heartbeat as I prefer lighter ones. I think I'd give the graphics a try too. Most people have no clue what a 4.0 RS is.

I am not a particular fan of stripes, but if you are heading that route I'd avoid the RS4.0 ones. Why not just go Martini? Failing that, the Porsche side stripes as on the Boxster Spyder and Cayman R are quite tasteful...?

Same graphics, but in red - to match calipers. Paint wheels matt black, without silver rim.

Thanks for the input gents.

Stripes have always been a love or hate thing.

Mat black wheels would look pretty hard, but if I were to change I'd want to make them grey, blacks just too hard to keep nice. It shows up everything!

Anyone handy with Photoshop? smile

I don't much care for them on the 4.0 . Like someone said earlier your car is great in its own right.
It doesn't need strips from a different model it will give the wrong message to the people that know there cars.

Don't spoil a great car !

No decals, replace rear spoiler with RS type item and replace wheels with some nice BBS LMR or something, job done!

ala Cup Car!

Nice thought but I'm one of the Paranoid Massive who can't bear to be without warranty boxedin

I think I'm going to leave it be. I know its 'my car' and I shouldn't bother what others think, but I would hate to turn a great car into a wannabe, which is what I thought might be the case.
