the never ending oil question .....
i too have recently just got a 2002 3.2s, and decide i wanted to do my own service on it, although it had had a main dealer service 3000 miles ago.
so , started asking on the usual online places
after about 50 replies from everyone from commedians to Porche mechanics, finally decided on Castrol Magnatec 10/40
the advice i was given was that the older the engine, the slightly more thicker viscosity oil would be better
This is one of those questions were ther is no one answer.
there are about 70 !!!! Porsche approved oils on their list, so it depends on things like , mileage, driving style, and how old that will determine the best oil for you.
im only doing about 4000 a year, and i will change my oil every year
someone elses driving conditions, will mean some other oil may suit them better.
i actually phoned a main dealer and spoke to a Porsche mechanic, and the above is the advice i was given. They dont just put the same oil in every car,
two cars exactly the same spec, might have dierrent oil put in, depending on what their owner has told the mechanic
