Hi,

Sorting a few bits on my car prior to Le Mans - Wanted to ask the advice of the collective knowledge on here on a couple of aspects.

My front discs and pads are shot, I've no idea how the warning light isn't on. I'm looking for something in the middle of road and track really. Like the idea of minimum brake dust and not worried having to warm them up slightly before they are fully effective. What are people running? Don't want to spend silly money, any advice on options and or links/prices would be appreciated. Whats the normal INDI labour rate on this?

Also my Top Mounts have gone, although not critical there are a few mild creaks as a result. I presume there is no point trying to upgrade these so will be getting the standards? Any idea on cost on parts and also labour for this change? Suspension will have to come out I presume.

Going to give a few companies a call to get ideas on prices tomorrow but thought it worth asking on here if anyone could offer any assistance - thanks in advance

Are you sure it's the top mounts that have worn?

I've had all the bottom bits refreshed to stop the creaking and knocking, wishbones, trailing arms and track rod ends.

Hi Leigh

I know for certain that they are both gone. Whether all the creaks are fixed as a result of the change is another matter as no doubt I have a bit of wear on the items that you have mentioned

Top mounts are £142 a side and you are wise to put new bearing in while its apart, another £30 a side, with vat that's just over £400. Labour at indy £50 an hour say 2 or 3 hours, plus geo maybe £100.

So give or take £600 plus minimum £1000 discs and pads - more if upgrading.

Sorry - that's front and rear discs pads and sensors fitted.

250 bucks for discs and pads?..............

Unbelievable value!

You could upgrade the pads to the GT2 items, still work well when cold etc, not sure on price but maybe more than 250 for discs and pads so I guess you should jump at that unbelievable offer smile
