I replace mine every year as part of my maintenance plan. Just did my own replacement a couple of weeks ago, around about a 4 minute job.
Interesting packaging though...............its huge I bottomed it out 3 places on the Nürbrugring on the first trip. After some 30 odd laps, its only scraping 1 place now Guess thats part of the bedding in process of these cars. Cant wait to go there with a brand new splitter again CK

Off on the Eurotunnel tomorrow to christen the car and have a trip to Italy. I'm sure there will be scraping noises there. birdcage said: I have 997 RS and every time I drive up Avenue Road where I live its scrape scrape scrape A fellow St Johns Wood resident on the thread, looking forward to seeing you around. The killer is Hamilton Terrace as well... The big issue for me is that my egress and ingress to my propery has a sharp dip between the road and the property. I try my best, but it's just physics and scraping is inevitable. GT02 SAM is always on the high st too

Rrroro said: Congrats on the purchase, looks awesome in cobalt (check out this thread: http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f... I tried looking for a cobalt 997.1 GT3, couldn't find one, so settled on black instead. Happy with black (when it's clean!) but would have preferred cobalt, looks lovely. Regards the splitter, best to look at these as consumables and change every year. I also live in NW London and am used to scraping the splitter everywhere (not least the entrance/exit to the underground carpark). I just bought a new one on one of the Porsche forums for £150. Should only take 10/15 mins to fit myself, will probably do it this weekend. Mine'll be up for sale next month if you fancy a change!

I am in Hampstead. Both Avenue Road & Hamilton Terrace are a pain to driving purists. Too many speed bumps.

My god, how many of us are there around NW8? I'm further down toward Edgware Rd. Sounds like we could have our own NW8 GT3 Club if we wanted, that would be a nice Post Code to live in LOL. I avoid Avenue Road and cut through Acacia, and Hamilton is a no go as far as I'm concerned

My God! What a car. I've just driven down from London to Luxembourg. The car is just incredible, the noise and the grip! Have hit a few Michelin "green" roads and now I can truly say I am just starting to understand what the fuss is about. I will run out of talent long before the car runs out of ability... Just sensational and you can feel terrific cup tyres gripping as you power through a corner Germany autobahn this morning! Any tips?
