I know the car probably better than anybody.
It is simply incredible, 1 of only 2 Guards Red 997 GT2's in the country, looks stunning & drives like a dream.
PM me or indeed ask me on here, I will answer best I can. There are definitely more than 2 gr 7gt2s in the country.

Best way is to take a bit of time to remove some of the plastic covers and carpetting, and also if poss get it on the ramps and drop off some of the plastic covers underneath.

I've driven a GR 58 plate at an OPC and the car from this thread is the same one I saw back in 2009 on a European trip, the cage wasn't yellow then - these are the only 2 red ones I know of. They look awesome in red, mine looks a bit reserved in comparison

Unless this is one of the very first 7gt2's in the country, then theres another gr one also, which I saw at brands in early 08 - if its the same car, it definitely didn't have a yellow cage back then ! How you getting on with your car.... total beast choice of a car mate - well done Gav !!

Al-ambo said: melvster said: anyone have a rough idea of how many 997 GT2's came to Britain ? 100 ? 61 C16's There were 34 2008 997GT2s sold in the UK C16 28 2009 PCM3 997GT2s sold in the UK C16. So actually 62 C16 cars, then the white one without the engine probably means 61 left unless anyone knows of any write offs... I love how when these models get a bit older certain people (probably dealers start it off) begin to hype up the Club Sport option as being more valuable/desirable.... If it were more desirable then more new car buyers would have specced it from the factory as it doesn't cost any more, I noticed the various 997GT2s which Walter tested in all the promo material weren't club sports, the cage in the back is a curiously British thing, the 7GT2 is the road car extraordinaire and doesn't need all that macho crap.....IMVHO

Could it be retrofitted anyway?

c4srmsims said: Could it be retrofitted anyway? It can be done. Parr quoted circa £2,000 fitted. Forgot to ask if that included harnesses. One thing I would say on the 997 GT2 is that having one with PCM3 I'd never want to go back to the PCM2 cars. My 997 GT3 RS.1 had PCM2 and it was the only thing that spoilt the car in my opinion. 997 GT2 performance is incredible. With the turbos taking a lot of the flat six noise away it is mental performance but quietly done. Very difficult to get used to guessing where the rev limit is without the rising engine note of the N/A cars. Don't need to use the gearbox to achieve good acceleration even in sixth. Far better mannered than the 996 GT2 which requires your full attention...most of the time.

Lots of carbon and red stitching inside? If it's that car I had a look at it but it was a bit steep for me at the time and they weren't keen on discounting it, awesome car though. I bought an 08 comfort spec a few months ago, totally insane cars, the way it can pile on speed is mind blowing. It's easier to drive than the 996 but still has that unhinged feel and GT2ness about it. It's in for a major service in a few weeks... really looking forward to being presented with the bill for that.

Yep thats the one - it was the trim that sold it to me as I wasnt in the market for a Porsche (wanted a 430 scuderia) Its my first experience of Porsche ownership, Im a die hard AMG fan and chopped in a C63 for the GT2. I have to say that i miss the sound of the Merc but the peformance of the GT2 is on a diferent level altogether. As promised i attach some pics.
