I have to say your looks lovely as well. The paint colour and interior go really well together.
My car does have the full leather and adpative sports seats. I do like the full leather, although the dash quality is so good now in standard form I am not sure it's really necessary.
I do like PCCB. I had them on my last Boxster. I like the fact there is almost no brake dust; that they never rust (an issue with my very first Boxster when I used the car irregularly); and that if I do take the car to the 'Ring (which I probably will one day), the brakes shrug off track use with ease (although the steels are probably just as good). I also do notice the lower unsprung mass in the steering. I plan to keep the car, like the last one, for 5 years, so the cost is amortised over a decent period.
Enjoy yours!
I particularly like the contrast stitching so maybe a slight extravagance if that is the only reason I wanted it ! As you say plastics aren't too bad but can't help thinking what if!My car does have the full leather and adpative sports seats. Yes I've been allowed to drive it a couple of times now - she seems to like it more than I thought she would which of course is good and bad !!
Just had its first wash and yes the wheels were covered in brake dust after just 250 miles!

Yes dealer has static demo in black, looks nice but looses some of the lines I think
I thought that might be the case - had a 987s in black when they first came out and it looked great, never thought I'd go back to a boxster after leaving the marque (crap servicing from opc got to me in the end; would go in with one fault an come out with two). The 981 has me thinking, test-drive on Tuesday, was supposed to be today however hangover got in the way...SonnyM said:
Great colour choice - many congrats! Platinum is my first choice if I don't get Gulf Blue... This is the first 981 I have seen with PCCB - well done! The wheels remind me of the new demo I saw today at Mid Sussex:
I didn't see that when I picked ours up!Personally I prefer our wheels with agate, that all just looks too dark

This one looked better in the flesh.. Though it is a lot of dark...

It's only 2 days old - someone bought the red demo after test driving it!

No I didn't see it and I was there for a while so it must have disappeared... What was there though was a lovely Aqua 7.2 GT3 and a noisy 993 with a massive wing...
It was behind ours in del bay so I guess about to be delivered. It looked horrendous but the guy is colour blind apparently
That blue gt3 has been there for a while and I agree it looks awesome
Wanted to be the first 981 in the Alps! The car is a dream on these roads - any doubts about the steering - COMPLETELY dispelled. Started off being VERY careful with it but when I came back to it in the Hotel car park in Colmar there were footprints up the bonnet, bits of fur around the windscreen wipers and a huge pile of cat's vomit on the roof... I guess not everyone (/thing) is a fan of the new styling? At least it's made me stop being so ******* precious about it!

a slick manual box, which feels halfway between the sports shift on my old Boxster and the old car's normal shift; great pedal feel
Any further observations on the Manual box - has it moved on since the 987 - have read some reveiws which state the clutch is heavy - have read others which state that the box is fantastic?

The shift action is very slick but with a nice, positive sense of engagement. My old 987 Boxster with the sports shift was a bit shorter in throw, but no faster as it was slightly stickier. The new 981 shift is much nicer than the old (non sports) shift in the 987, which I always found a bit too light and long, even a bit woolly at times.
The clutch is indeed quite heavy - heavier than my old car, but less so than a GT3.
What also helps is that the engine seems to have a very light flywheel - certainly lighter than in my old car, and that means it blips when doing a heel & toe change really nicely, and also that the revs drops on upshifts quickly, facilitating a fast, smooth change.
Overall, it's pretty near perfection.
Cheers

I've got to Chamonix now and done 1400km - the manual box is an absolute delight with a wonderful snick, snick action and the clutch is nicely weighty but not heavy (ie not a pain in traffic). I am finding the clutch much better than in the 987 or 997. Previously I thought left hand drive manuals had better clutch action and right handers were a bit "tricky" to be smooth with, but this one is a dream. some reveiws which state the clutch is heavy - have read others which state that the box is fantastic?
The steering is just perfect (for my taste) - brilliant on hairpins.
...and no more cats vomit so far (touch wood).
