I'm the same height as you (although im built like a brick sthouse and am a company director) and the 981 I sat in does appear to be more roomy than my Spyder.

Certainly, I could get comfiest in the 981.
Does that mean you're fat and bald? wink
No. It means he needs extra room for his ego.
No, it means he was being sarcastic actually, and can get comfier in a 981.

Customer - Many thanks for the optional extra self fix roof.

Saleman - Yes Sir, we thought you'd like a reminder of your Spyder.

With 20s you need PASM. SFO didn't spec it because he wanted a purer driving experience. PASM is also vague on the limit. It's down to personal preference really.
What is this based on? I have 20's and no PASM. One of the best riding cars Ive had and better than my Cayamn Gen2 on 19's and Spyder. I cant understand why people will spec it if they dont intend to track it or want the other options that require it. Early adopters were probably right to spec it in case it rode like a 987, it doesnt. I usually complain about ride comfort, not here

I stand corrected! Thanks Chins. This is very interesting and defies the sales talk oc having to spec PASM with 20s just because all the demos have them. Another good reason to buy a 981, once the build issues are sorted.

I had a demo 981 a few weeks back - I'm sure it didn't have PASM but it had 20's on it it and felt brilliant.

Think it's now for sale at Leicester.

I was at Chiswick OPC a couple of days ago and there was a beautiful Slate grey one there.....unfortunately I can't afford one new but certainly will be looking at a few a couple of years down the line.....it looks so much more purposeful than the old one.

p.s. Got to get to some wind in my hair before I die....and yes...I still do have a good head of hair.....grey yes.....but plenty of it.....smile

Me too. Grey is better than none!

Ive never gelled with open tops though. I just feel like a middle aged prat. You stop at the lights and have to turn your stereo down as people dont 'understand' Yngwie Malmsteen! hehe

Perhaps I am just too self conscious?

Only true music lovers would get Yngwie Malmsteen... Open top works perfectly in the Boxster as the cockpit is small and you are cocooned in. With the 981 you sit lower so can hardly be seen anyway.

If you have to wait then wait but do it before die Madala - it is an experience of life few of us are fortunate enough to enjoy.

was out for hours in the sun today with roof down.

to ensure I didn't get sunstroke, put the roof up, a/c on and just cruised home .. it's a whole other car! quiet (compared to 987), and you get the hear the engine/exhaust better (even without PSE) smile

a sports car with dual personalities, what's not to like?

981 rocks.

What seat belt color do you have with the Carrara Red interior?
If possible, could you Post a pic.
Just ordered 981 with Carrara Red interior with Guards Red belts and its been suggested that silver belts would be better?
Ordered PASM which will lower the car.
I actually love the 981 over the Spyder, much cleaner design but of course the Spyder echoes the 550.-Dick
