actually managed to drive the car in the sun yesterday morning, with the roof down, and with a mate taking some great (well, I think so anyway) pics ..

Either you're really, really small or you're the Invisible Man.

Doesn't look like anyone's driving the car!

it's because you sit quite low in the car, and the rear hoops are higher up than before

misalignment is everywhere even on new cars. doesn't bother me too much, but that bumper should get fixed.

gotta say you really need bigger wheels and a lowering job. it'll look a thousand times better. right now it looks rather pedestrian.

i wish the dash was black. there's just way too much red there.

the spyder stands on its own surprisingly enough. congrats on the pick-up.

No, wheel size is perfect for the function and amount of travel ideal for a road car, it's not a DTM monster.
Lowering it would certainly ruin it, not worth it just for vanity.

Hey some dudes still think pleated pants are cool to wear.

The new box needs the 20s.

Nah. Looks better on 19s. V tired of this obsession with ridiculous rolling stock.

Looks wise, wouldn't hurt to lower it a bit. And it can be done without spoiling the handling. Actually, you can improve the handling while you're at it. It's just not cheap to do right and nukes the warranty, so I guess not really an option for a brand new model.

20s with lip are going to look visually smaller by just the right amount compared to the factory option 20s. it's the best look and who cares about street performance. negligible.

With 20s you need PASM. SFO didn't spec it because he wanted a purer driving experience. PASM is also vague on the limit. It's down to personal preference really.

I know this sounds silly but the sport design steering wheel helps break up the red vs the standard wheel. Then again, I really don't like the look of the standard wheel, it looks too plastic-y for my tastes.

Lovely looking car, I really do like the new Porsche range and the Boxster 981 really holds its own vs the 991 IMO

bumper/wing joint is fixed.

I prefer the 19" wheels, although I agree it could be lower. If I was ordering again, I might spec PASM.

I'm the same height as you (although im built like a brick sthouse and am a company director) and the 981 I sat in does appear to be more roomy than my Spyder.

Certainly, I could get comfiest in the 981.
Does that mean you're fat and bald? wink
No. It means he needs extra room for his ego.
