Never "dis" the back seats. nono

The back seats serve a purpose. That is the excuse / reason many of us get these cars past wifes as suitable "Family" cars.

My 3 y/o daughter fits in them just fine. thumbup

Luckily I dont have kids yet, but I take comfort in the fact the rear seats in a 911 are able to be justified.

Regarding inspection let us know where you are in the country and I'm sure somebody will recommend a good local indi. Alternativey you can use Peter Morgan who coversoat of the country (do a google search).

I have just used Peter Morgan for mine and he has been great. I spoke to him yesterday, he saw the car today and called with a 20 minute run down of findings before the report is written. The reassurance he has given me is worth its weight in gold. There are a few small issues, some I had already noted and it had been agreed to sort, but a few I hadn't that are far from show stoppers, but would have been a niggle if not caught in advance. His insight on the DME read out and other little things like looking where the sat nav had taken the car to in the past were really useful.

Guess what thing for me is that coming out of an R34 GTR and an R33 GTR before that, they were proper 4 seaters and the difference is quite large, I don't even like the rear seats in a GTR and they're a bit more comfortable but still not enough space for a person of my size, let alone taller people

However, for the OP question,i'd get a 996 over a 997 simply due to the amount saved over the purchase prices for both, unless you don't like the look of the 996 and then have to get the 997, i'd have a 993 Turbo that got that wide arch kit (not sure what it's called) over a a 996 Turbo and a 997 Turbo though biggrin

But turbos are meant to be SUPER QUICK...which the 993 turbo isn't. If I was getting a 993 I would get a N/A one - in narrow or wide body, they both look great (just not as great as the 964 though!)

I used GTOne who are based in Chertsey for my Boxster service a couple of months ago. I was really impressed by their service

I'm also in Surrey. For my 964 I used a combination of Northway (Reading), GT-One (Chertsey), JZM (Kings Langley) at various times (I owned it for 9 years). For the turbo, I've used Northway a couple of times and now use nineexcellence.

All have good reputations - although I must admit I would not rate them all equally.

I'm very happy with nineexcellence - at my minor service last year, it's the first time ever I've had a car serviced and it's felt much different (better) when I collected it. Since my service next month is a major, I reckon it should feel like a 997 turbo after that one. wink

Another vote for nineexcellence for 996 Turbo servicing - they are incredibly good.
