Judging by the enormous amounts of male ego that i feel is evident at the track days i've attended i'm already wondering if talking about tuition is too much of a girlie thing to do? None of the people i've spoken to at the track never seem to need it!

Anyway, I arranged an evening of shared tuition with Anthony Dunn of iwannagofaster.com, cost £150 ish for an hour and a half of his time. Turned out the other guy didn't make it so I had him to myself.

Despite his devilishily young looks he's very experienced with 13 years of racing and 7 years of tutoring under his small belt.

We started off discussing what I thought I needed to learn and then proceeded around the track getting up to speed. He really does have the eye for seeing where I was 'going wrong' with issues that mainly focused around my vision; where and when to be looking through the corners.
As you may know, Bruntinthorpe is a very fast track, especially when you slingshot down the back straight! He soon really boosted my confidence with the high speed cornering and I was able to prove to myself that what I had previously leant with Don Palmer with regards to car control was easier to put in to practice at higher speeds than it is at lower speeds!
The highlights of the day for me were doing three laps behind a Lambo Gallardo without any considerable distance being put between us and the few high speed laps anthony performed in my car which proved to me I still have a long way to go!

In a nutshell I'd say book him up! The difference between the beginning of the evening and the end was clear to see: in the beginning I was the slowest, at the end, one of the fastest! Huge grins all round! (oh, and the tyre pressure advice realy helped!

Nobody should ever be ashamed of asking for tuition.

I have now attended approx 12-15 trackdays now, not many by a lot of peoples standards on this forum i know, but although i now feel very confident in my car on and off track, there will ALWAYS be room for improvement.

A very appropriate use of the double negative if ever there was one!

Well it's early and I've been on a diversion around the countryside on the way to work!
