Tyre Manufactures
Discussion
I will need to put some new boots on the rear of my 996 C4 very soon (fronts are OK for the momement). Just looking at the different quotes out there - plenty of tyre choices (Michelin, Pirelli, Dunlop, continental, bridgestone etc). Any thing i should be aware of ?? Are the more expensive Michelin Pilot Sports N1 the ones to go with or would the cheaper ones be just as good. Im not much of a serious wheelsman and quite frankly could not tell the difference in grip/qualities that the motor journalists sometimes talk about or am i wrong - is there a real difference ??
go with the same as you have on the front,if they have life left in them,,even ensure you get the same N number.
Never a good idea to mix brands on different axles of a car especially a 911. Only change brands in batches of 4. You can badly affect the handling, particularly under heavy braking.
