Was there in April this year on a roadtrip to the 'ring via Turin!

To appreciate the place you really just need to go there.....it has a definite aura about it and you can really have a good wander round and explore....would definitely recommend....even if you go by push bike!

Beautiful!

See....wish I'd taken this type of pic! My favourite colour for an E46 M3 too!

Here's one of my old Boxster in 2009. I was off on holiday to Avignon and had to pick my wife up from Troyes later in the day, so it seemed rude not to stop off for a good look around - without the inevitable "Can we go now please"

Well we made it. Got back last night.

Bit tricky to find as said on here earlier. Satnav threw a wobbler and basically gave up.
Cool place and quite eerie.

My satnav got me there with no hassles (Navigon on the iPhone).

I just told it to go to Gueux.

Ours didn't even recognise Gueux as a town!

Tomtom one. Bought new maps for it before we left and they were hopeless. On at least 3 occasions when we left the motorway the nav didn't recognise the roads we on even existed. Just looked like we were driving over fields on the screen.

In the end we headed west out of Reims on the dual carriageway (I forget which one), then worked our way back in on the single carriage road through Gueux. Luckily all the locals we stopped and pestered were friendly and kept us on the right path. smile

Thought I might bring this one back from the dead as I'm thinking of Reims for the wife's birthday next weekend. Anybody care to share tips on hotels restaurants or just more photos? Cheers...

Thanks - that place looks great. But has no rooms available sadly. Currently considering being a bit of a cheapskate and booking a 'Novotel Suite' in the centre of Reims.

After a mix up at our hotel, I stayed at the Campanile hotel in Riems, 6C4GTS and Celticsteve stayed bout 200 yards down the road at another hotel but ate at the Camanile. The steak was ok, but the champagne was great. Around €70 for the night.

Thanks - I just booked the Tunnel for Friday of next week, so just got to select the hotel now. The wife's a veggie though, so Christ alone knows what they'll make of that. I, on the other hand, love a decent steak frites.

In which case that's us sorted for the weekend. Lovely. Also gonna pop to some one horse town called Cernay en Dormois out to the East of Reims, as it's where my Great Uncle was shot down and killed back in 1944 (by the bloody Americans - and no, he wasn't in the Luftwaffe, but in the RAF).

Some brilliant photos here - keep 'em coming. Was debating taking the wife's Corolla. Decided to take the Cayman after that last set. Though that means I'll have to give it a wash now.
