Pad advice wanted
Discussion
Hi
I was wondering if any one has changed the OEM pads to an after market brand. I'd like a bit more stopping power, feed back and was hoping a pad change and new metal hoses might do the trick. Don't want to go down the route of new disk and callipers
I don't intend to track the car, so the pads would have to work from cold and nothing that squeaks under braking
I had a quick look through the search topics, but can't really find much info on the difference between OEM and Mintex or Pagid in performance terms.
Do you get more bite with after market pads, are the stopping distances shorter, or are after market just more resistant to fade?
Anyone gone from OEM to a fast road pad?
Regards

Lots of people go to uprated pads. Pagids are often a favourite, but everything is a compromise. Decent pads for stopping power eat discs and squeal.
If you don't want your pads to be eaten and don't want squealing, the OEM pads (or their factor equivalent through eurocarparts.com etc.) are normally good all rounders.
I'd suggest a quick chat with your car spec and requirements with someone who knows pads inside out, say Colin from 9mracing.co.uk
