997--DSG- yes or no?
Discussion
I was just wonderering about the new DSG gearbox, that is rumoured to be arriving on the 997 next year.
I have never been a fan of the Tiptronic system as you loose a lot of the control & inter-action you get with a manual box, but when the the new system is launched (supposedly similar to Audi's clever two clutch paddle control of a "manual" gearbox) it could offer the best of both worlds.
Let's be honest the manual gearbox/clutch can be a pain in stop start traffic & where you need light throttle inputs. Plus this system is supposed to change gear instantly, aiding maximum performance & also help match revs on down changes.
Any thoughts on this , manual, DSG, Tip,.............. a 997TT with the new gear-box..tasty
