The car was meant to be a keeper and spent a lot of money on making sure that everything was sorted with the engine, upgraded studs etc. It pulls like a train and when it was dynoed it was pushing out around 260-270hp Huge Shame u sold it then. The G pipe make it sound good? How much did they give u for it if u don't mind me asking? PM me if u like. Suspension all done?

slodge said: Hi Adam,
Sorry to hear the 964 has left your garage! Looks stunning in the photos and from talking to the RPM boys sounds like a great deal of work was done.
Whilst it seems top dollar for a 964, IMO it's a good price for the amount of work done - someone will get a great car with nothing to do!! Can't say that about many 964s. Before I bought my red one, I put in an offer on the silver 964 JZM had in last summer priced at £28k+ - they didn't take it and it sold 2 weeks later for the full asking price... Awesome cars if you get a good'un!
All the best
SL If someone wanted a 964 with no/very little work to do then they couldn't go wrong with my old one. There were a few niggly bits and as pointed out the interior needed doing which was on my list of things to do next year but I honestly think that it'd be hard to find a car like it out there for sale. RPM did a great job on it and I would always use them as my default point of contact for any Porsche related work The Gpipe was fantastic although having to start the car at 430am in order to get to work would sometimes irk the neighbours. I think secretly they're glad it's gone.

I have G Pipe on mine and it sounds good, not too aggressive, but a nice throaty burble all the same. I do hanker after a little more 'fruit' occasionally when pressing on, but in the main it's a good compromise.
Cheers

A big shame you have to sell it ajstephe. Nearly 9K for a top end rebuild ?. Have JZM made a typo as I guess at that money it was a full rebuild ?

I agree 964s are great cars and have had my fair share of them.. The problem is ,and what i believe will hold them back is the opportunity cost.. For near £30k that an excelent on will cost, what else can you buy? 996 turbos,997s, a few more grand and your knocking on 355s and 360s..

That's an interesting point and 996 turbos are Definately a good buy as is regularly discussed on here but I guess there are just so many of them as there are 997's. Let's face it 997's are heading for exactly where regular 996's are now though what a car for the money right now. The problem with 355's ( and I had one last year) is the running costs are astronomical and With more than 30k miles some won't touch them. I thought long and hard about a 964 RS but the difference between an RS and what C2's currently cost to me makes no sense. Either RS's are gonna come back down in price or C2's and maybe 4's will creep up very slightly or maybe even both will happen. Also An RS for the road may be a little uncompromising. Also with a gt3 there is little point me having 2 two seater track focused cars. Just my view point

My 964 is going to end up costing me close to £30k all told once I have it how I want it. Really does pay to spend a bit more and get a rust free car with a rebuild.

If the engine is not leaking leave well alone. There is no need for a rebuild if it's dry. Suspension work is a great upgrade first off
