I quite liked this summary from Phooey posted some time ago:

"The advantage and technology of PDCC allows for a comfortable ride - the car only stiffens on electrical inputs from the steering wheel and throttle. Therefore unlike the stiffer suspension of the likes of the GT3, with PDCC you can have the creature comforts of a road car, with the handling of a GT3 = best of all worlds.

I can imagine, on the road it is quite a strange feeling at first, but once used to it, and confident of what and how it works, it can make for some SERIOUS pressing on.

It's not rocket science. Less roll = better stability. It's just with a PDCC system you can have a stiff, roll free chassis on the bends, with a very road compliant set-up at all other times"
I can vouch for this. I'm in the West Highlands right now where the roads are epic but the surfaces prone to water and frost erosion on a scale beyond that experienced elswehere in the UK. The 991 with PDCC is so tremendously comfortable on any surface... And then you hit a switchback road with multiple rapid changes of direction (=chicanes) and the car just darts, flat as you like, from one transition to the next... and at ridiculous speed.

Aqua blue,CS,PDK and other add ons........think your comment sums it up,hard to tell the difference, but hey everybody to there own, enjoy your new motor when it comes. I'll post some pics when I get mine,do the same, look forward to seeing them. After all the new 991 IMHO is a thing of beauty.
Sorry Binks, but by your own admission you're basing your opinion of PDCC from what you've read, it is not actually that hard to tell the difference at all, PDCC turns a very good car into a better car from a driving perspective, no question about it (I am no driving God mate). If you'd rather put the money into other options that's fine, we all have a choice and I wouldn't for one moment suggest that the sunroof is ugly, pointless and a waste of money smile Seriously though, you need to experience PDCC before you start telling us all that it's hard to tell the difference, especially around here!
Hey I'm not trying to tell anybody anything just agreeing with 911ted, I'm sure everybody has more experience on here with 911s than me,this is my first! ( had a couple of Caymans )But I have driven both and PDCC didn't do it for me. And what I read added to my decision to leave it off.....but the new kid on the block takes your point. getmecoat

You misunderstand, the debate is fun and there's no pecking order, but there are some knowledgeable folks on here (not me).

I think the tricky aspect of PDCC is that there are no indicators that it is working despite the dramatic impact it has on cornering attitude (particularly on a slaloming road) and comfort. There's no light to warn you it's activated, or roll meter. The car just stays amazingly flat and controlled through rapid fire directional shifts, as well as remarkably comfortable on the straight ahead.

And on yesterday's hoon down one of Skye's twistiest back roads it blew me away.

The steering feel is still a let-down nevertheless. This is the major compromise drviers of older Pork need to make to embrace the numerous advances of the 991.

Maybe next edition should feature a "rumble" steering wheel!
