Well, I'm chuffed as I've just put my order in for a 991 carrera s basalt black. Upgraded from 987 boxster slate grey with sports shift. 991 is pdk and procrastinated over chrono and went for that, sports exhaust, sunroof, black wheels etc. 991 is a quantum leap - no question. Cant wait for delivery!!

Congrats! It's a wonderful package and you'll love it. Did you consider PDCC at all?

I kind of had to draw the line somewhere as the price was starting to stack.....
I absolutely love a drive but have never taken my car on a track (although might well in the future) so didnt deem it a "must have"
have you got the 991?

I've already done the same even though my 991 is a cab. You've got to scratch that 911 itch. I may eventually go back to Boxster or try to get something that won't shed loads in depreciation like a 993 Turbo. Enjoy. Happy days.

Yes I have a 991 in platinum silver, sports chrono, PDK, PDCC, sunroof and a few interior upgrade items... you are right the price does stack up incredibly fast and it's one of the reasons it took me about 3 months to decide on the spec!

Awesome
Do you track it or just enjoy the ride with PDCC?

I kept trying cars with and without PDCC and also had a session at PEC with both types... in the end I decided that the ride with PDCC was much more fun and combined really well with all the other new technologies in the 991S (PDK, PTV etc). Not saying that the car without PDCC isn't much good, it's still an awesome package!

Now that I've had almost 2k miles of driving enjoyment I am really pleased I specced PDCC. In terms of normal road driving it makes the ride much more compliant (it's already pretty good to start with but this really turns the car into a magic carpet!) and gives you huge confidence taking corners at higher speeds.

It's not for everyone so I would definitely recommend extended test drives with both.

Congratulations, that sounds beautiful. Did you go for the 20" alloys, they look fantastic in the big wheelarches the 991 has? I have to admit, I didn't like the pics of the 991 in the press but in the flesh it is a fabulous looking machine, and very comfy inside too.

Of course, the usual rules apply... pictures on collection please!

How long do you have to wait?

Gary

God you must be mad, haven't you read all the negative posts by the PH armchair experts that don't own a 991?

Only joking of course welcome to the club, I went for PDCC instead of the sunroof
