I'm going to get the bypass mod done at H&S on Wednesday. Can't wait but still not sure what size to go for. I'm thinking 1.5" or 1.75". Does anyone have any experience or recommendations?

They sound fabulous - I've got PSE but never switch it onto quiet (maybe 10 times in 2 years)..... I think your bypass is money vey well spent.

And PSEs break, the bypass won't.

Are you taking the car in or just the mufflers ?
I'm going to have this done so very interested in your choice of size of bypass pipe.

I have 1.5 inches and wish I had bigger *snigger*. It's not quite as loud as the PSE on my old 996.

I'm going to take the car in as its my everyday car and don't fancy dealing with all the rusty fasteners!

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm converging on 1.75" as I've heard a couple of times that 1.5" is slightly quieter that PSE and that 2" is too loud for everyday.

For info there is a really useful post on 911uk.com for anyone thats interested. I think you need to have a login to view though:-

I'm at the cafe just round the corner from H&S trying to waste another hour whilst the guys do the mod.

Can't wait.

^ The drive home should be 'fun' with the windows down slightly through tunnels/under bridges! BTW have you mentioned to your neighbours what you are doing? biggrin

So you opted for the 1.75" bypass then.
Very interested to know if this is a good choice instead of the 2".
How much are you being charged, and is it an all in cost for any brackets that need replacing ?
Enjoy your drive home.

I went for the 1.5" in the end under advice from H&S. Had so much fun on the way home. Would recommend the bypass to everyone!

Lets see what the neighbours say tomorrow as I've got an early start.
