No affiliation to the seller but at £36,995, this has to be worth a look for someone who is working to a budget?

I think I may know this car. Would any prospective buyers please check it's previous registration numbers with DVLA, and PM me with your findings before buying it.I can then confirm whether it's the car I think it is.
Seems cheap to me and has been around for a while, may have some history but then again might just be an amazing bargain.

I saw a speed yellow GT2 in Stasse, Leeds having a service recently.
Mental looking car in a mental colour. It was the best 911 I've seen for ages...
If it was July that was possibly mine in for the annual service, although they do look after more than one.

I did not think there would be more than 1 SY example in the UK, it is such a rare colour but IMO, the best.

Back on track with the thread.

My GT2 does have the electrical cut off pull as per standard fitment on the Club Sport but my cage is the ally version?

Can anyone verify my chassis number (9925695305) as being a CS or do I need to check the build stickers on the car?
Evening Chap,

Your car is a genuine M003 Clubsport - the original cage was replaced and the seats were re-trimmed in leather some time ago.

I love my GT2. It has (almost) the mumbo of a Noble M600 in Race Mode - and that is by far the quickest road car I have ever had the pleasure of spending many, many miles, days and months in. The Noble is a little more exploitable on the limit though, and probably one of the best cars on the planet.... :-)

I would recomend a sorted 996 GT2 to anyone who loves DRIVING. 360's, Turbo S's, R35 GTR's, 997 GT3's just don't have it. Now where's that perfect diff setting I need to make it very bit as good a drive on throttle as a 996 GT3...?

Thanks for the confirmation.

I have checked and my chassis number is WP0ZZZ99Z25695305 model 996841 engine 64220814 and yes it is an original M003 Club Sport.

This (in my view) doesn't necessarily make my car worth any more money (at the moment) but on the basis of its rarity (was it 1 of only 10 built) I may now keep hold of the car as I can see it appreciating in years to come.

Cheers

There are at least two others I have seen over the years in the classifieds, including one Ruf fettled version. I looked at a couple of black ones in 2005 and then found this one just 11 miles from home, three years old and 8000 on the clock. A clubsport, it was irresistible. As you say SY is stunning, helped by a bit of brazilian wax.

Not a problem, but there were 16 Clubsport cars.

Ade (not sure which Ade from way back so you will have to clarify!).

I still own the MK1 and have done since 1995.

She is moth balled having had full body restoration and paint (now LA5Y Helios Blue) and is absolutely mint.

The engine has also been fully rebuild with new Forged Pistons, Titanium rods and a new inlet manifold. She will make between 500-600bhp this time and all run through the Quiafe all steel 6 speed dog box with only 1,060 kg to push via RWD with mid engined traction.

I have been rebuilding her for the last 4 years but have been so busy with work I keep pushing the completion date back.

When finsihed and set up she should give my Apollo a good run for the money - all from a 1983 MK1 Golf!

Nice, reminds me of Maurice's old car which I used to see at brands all the time.

yeah, both nice drivers

biggrin

mind you, the red car was way faster ... we could go past the black one but not the red mk1 which used to run sub 50 at brands IIRC on slicks which is good going

It's true what they say about GT2s being dangerous, they even go sideways standing still!

What were the differences between mk1 & 2?

Obviously the wheels (which do seem to make the car look so much better to my eyes) & I seem to remember something about a geo change but was that it?
