Mmm, Crags - I spent a fair bit of time in Norway and those are my initials...

Sadly it's not mine.

I love those bronze coloured wheels. Look great on a white G2 GT3 too!

Spied in its natural habitat-the chip shop next to the gas station at the nurburgring!

He was giving it the berries all weekend whoever he was-what a machine!

Unfortunately I can only lay claim to the hairdressers (natch) mobile in the background frown

I am prvilaged to have a 996RS and a 993RSR in my garage. The only other water cooled cars that I would dearly love to joint them would be a CGT or a 996GT2. Anyone looking to spend 40-50k on a 911 is bonkers if they don't look at buying a GT2 as a serious option.

That's got to be the best real world image of a 997 GT2 RS I've seen. Superb Craig.

There were a couple there that weekend but I just thought it looked so nice in red, the others being white & black. The red one came past us on the track & bloody hell what a noise, ever heard a Vulcan bomber do a fly-by? Thats the gt2rs! Crazy, crazy car like.

You get a good idea of just how quick cars are on the back straight out of bergwerk, it's just so steep. Say my old r26.r used to bog down at 125mph, the ZM gets to 140, the gtr I drive there is bloody quick at 160 but this thing, bloody hell I just got out of its way! Must have been 170+ going up there!

My old 996 GT2 with remap and Ruf exhaust used to sound awesome at full chat, can only imagine what that 2 RS must've sounded like !

I'm amused as to why a cat d would not interest you but a high miler would ?.
Such a cliche really - I have had an amazing time in mine knowing it was a cat d when I bought it but thoroughly checking it out properly and having all receipts from the previous build.
Give me low mileage anytime.

If the car is A1 then you have a perfect base to improve further ie/ suspension, performance etc etc

Mines up for sale now but obviously as a cat d you wouldn't be interested...

I'm seriously thinking about a 996 turbo, but I'd really like a GT2 as I prefer rear wheel drive, the only problem is that I would have to save for another year or towards a GT2, which also puts them into 997t pricing? Car would be a weekend/evening toy only, so not bothered about comfort too much etc.

Are the 40k cars really that bad, or can you pick up somthing usable for that money? Nothing with a cat c/d history would really interest me, but a high miler would not worry me too much?

Mine was sold by a dealer for less than 40 and the condition was trully exceptional. It was also a well known car with a straight history. At 72k it was up on the miles but hardly worn out!
