Crimp
I use:
Autograph (Burnley) for electrical and audio work as I have know them years and they know there stuff.
Phoenix Motorsport (Accrington) for suspension and set up. Olly has forgotten more about suspension set up than most so called specialists actually know! They look after a large portion of the Lotus Elise Cup cars, a few historic F1 cars, hill climb cars, track 930 turbos, GT3s and everything in between.
Loe Bank Motors (Edenfield) for servicing. What Chris Sanderson doesn’t know about Porsche cars could be written on a post it note. He used to look after my 3.2 Carrera and my 928s back in the day.
My car has also been extensively worked on by OPCs, Fearnsport, JZM and Regal Autosport.
Cheers

I have on the last 2 occasions used RPM in knaresborough, there is also another indy in Brighouse and one in Barnsley.

Just had the longest journey in the 10 months that I have owned my GT2 yesterday.
Collected car from local specialist having just had interior restored back to original including: standard centre console (original had been sprayed metallic grey - ste), dash returned to standard (air con had been moved down - again ste), horrible double DIN touch screen JapCr@p header unit removed and replaced with new period Nakamichi CD40 (yes I know it's not OE but the CR22 is just too old hat), all dash vents replaced with OE black (had also been sprayed metallic grey - ste). Now looks standard and stunning!
So she now has: sorted suspension (Manthey KW V3 with road biased bump, rebound and proper geo and corner weighting with drivers weight accounted for), new 890nm clutch and dual mass FW, good rubber (235fr, 325r) + 578bhp and enough torque to rip up the tarmac.
Only an 80 mile round trip (to pick my son up from a football match) but covered sweeping A roads, some motorway (M62 Saddleworth) and a few quiet B roads. The journey home was at dusk just as the sun was going down and there was a distinct "Chill" in the air - the dense cool air felt like it had added another 50bhp to the beast - OMG what a drive!
These opportunities don't come along very often but it is worth keeping a car like this just to experience these moments - EPIC machine. Full bore in 2nd and through 3rd leaves a real impression of you!

I can't believe that MkII on ebay is still a pocket money toy.
That's going to be snapped up by a dealer at this rate and the next time we see it it'll be £59,995
I'm annoyed about not having the liquid myself to buy it and sell mine on in the spring, although why oh why oh why did he get AS? Anything but AS

Good to hear - if you want an improvement below 650hp we now only recommend gt2rs Intercoolers - best available after we tested approx 5 of the leading alternatives including larger. Well worth the money as they stop ignition being adjusted by reducing iats
Ken
Will be very interesting to see what happens with the GT2 on eBay.
Given the provenance, condition, specification and milage this must give us a true reflection of the state of the market for a private sale?
I mean, if you were in the market for a Private Car, why would you not bid on that one?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-GT2-2004-20k-Mil...
Must make £50k surely?

I have K24/26's with motorsport bearings The LWFW reduces the lag but it still struggles against a 997TT with VVT coming on the gas.....once going though it devours a 997TT. I am considering bigger intercoolers.....what mods are needed to make the RS units fit?

Had a chat with the seller today, seemed like a genuine nice chap and very straight with his answers. Car is a MK1 built in 2003 with factory carbon bits. Its also had some paintwork at the front end and the side following a front end bump/some vandalism.Given the provenance, condition, specification and milage this must give us a true reflection of the state of the market for a private sale?

What cars are advertised for, and what they are worth are two totally different things - and thats the rub. I had the red car inspected and needless to say I didn't buy it, I bought something else instead....
GT2's in the UK are, in my opinion, very badly maintained. This is not down to the super skills of the likes of Fearnsport etc but due to the owners not sorting them out and keeping them fresh due to the misnoma(?) that exists about GT2's not handling etc.. so owners give up on them and amuse themselves by giving the happy pedal a big prod when in a straight line. GT3's on the other hand appear to be well looked after. A good GT2 is worth £50k plus all day long - and I genuinly think you can ask that if it is a good one that has been looked after and had money spent on it in the right areas. Look at most for sale - I'm sure I could highlight (very easily) great ways to blow £10k on each within a week of ownership.
And if you are in any doubt over values, look at the 993GT2. Yes it may look better than the 996 GT2, but in every other way it is inferior. It was produced in smaller numbers than the 996 GT2 and was built for racing, but it IS achieving (not necessarily worth) silly money.
As for 996 GT2 prices dropping, I guess if they are left outside to rot then they will. If they are looked after then it aint aver going to happen.. It's an unloved (for now) GT Porsche with a bad attitude, made in numbers similar to the Carrera GT, assembled by the Motorsport dep't at Weissach - as such its sure to gain cult status in the future.
Hi JFP Im seriously considering buying the red one at Manor Garage, as i love the Guards Red! Can you tell me what issues you came across when you enquired as it could save me a journey... email me if you like UGGS4U@YAHOO.COMGT2's in the UK are, in my opinion, very badly maintained. I sold the car into the trade last week. Interestingly, it is up for auction at BCA in Nottingham this morning. If anyone knows the final sale price I'd be interested to know if they make a loss/profit...marky911 said:
