ENGINE (MID MOUNTED – REAR WHEEL DRIVE): TEC/Dubsport engineered 2995cc VR6. Forged Wossner 82.75mm low comp (8.0:1) pistons, Titanium conrods, balanced crankshaft, modified oilways and oil pump, metal head gasket, sodium-filled valves, hardened valve seats, polished and maximum ported head, uprcompetition bearings. Custom VR6 inlet manifold (ported and shortened), AMD large bore throttle body, TEC replacement ECU, ported exhaust manifold. Hybrid KKK K27 ceramic turbo, variable boost system (0.6-1.7bar), twin Blitz dump valves and external wastegate. Custom-built 3" Scorpion stainless exhaust. PWR barrel chargecooler and polished turbo pipework, K&N filter with larger TEC airflow meter. Custom radiator with twin cooling fans. Foam filled alloy fuel tank mounted under bonnet. Power well over 500bhp, and 500lb/ft torque.

TRANSMISSION: All steel Quaife six-speed gearbox and limited slip diffential. Rear wheel drive. Sachs competition clutch. VW Motorsport Mk3 Golf competition quickshift gear linkage mounted on custom alloy tower. Racelogic traction control system with launch control and full-throttle gearshift.

CHASSIS: 8.5x15" Schmidt TH Line split rim alloys with 195/50 R15 Silverstone road legal track day tyres. Spax RSX height adjustable coilover struts for Mk2 Golf used front and rear. Roller-adjustable alloy top mounts. Shortened, strenghthened wishbones. Neuspeed anti-roll bars front and rear. Golf VR6 brake calipers with 280mm Zinc cross-drilled discs, 90-spec Mk2 Golf 16v front calipers used at rear with 256mm Zinc cross-drilled discs. Goodridge braided brake lines, 90-spec Golf 16v servo with 23mm alloy master cylinder. Rally-spec hydaulic handbrake, adjustable brake bias valve.

EXTERIOR: Mk 1 Golf Driver bodyshell without sunroof, Full respray in Helios Blue (LA5Y) in September 2009. Standard GTi arch trims and bumpers. Single headlamp grille.

INTERIOR: Full multi-point FIA approved rollcage. Cobra/Dubsport Evolution Kevlar race seats, Willans four-point harnesses, boost gauge mounted on glovebox, Sparco suede steering wheel.

This thing has been like one on my kids (only older!) and I have owned her since before I got married (which was over 16 years ago!).

I will finish the development and she will once again scare the absolute st out of me - lets set 2013 as the year of her return.
