In the Sep issue of GT Purely Porsche (with a modified blue GT3-RS on the front) it says:

(oh, and the Yellowbird and Rturbo aren't Adamt's..)

Current issue is not too shabby either. Buying guide on 964 Turbo and short piece on three ages of turbos currently available to buy.

I've always been a fan of the rear wheel drive turbos (growing up in the 80's and, sadly, the Will Smith film 'Bad Boyz' are responsible for this). I think my next car will probably be a mint late 3.6ltr 964 Turbo (metallic black if possible...erm.. just like Will Smith's.. but was his a Turbo S?), so this issue was very timely for me.

I'm looking forward to the next issue.

Let's see what GTPP has to say but many independent reviews claim that the 3.3 turbo was the better car. IIRC Turbo 2s are under £30k but the S is about £50k

Cheers Bernard (Turbobloke). Should be an interesting read. The £30k price point is an interesting one for sports car purchasing at the moment, just considering Porsche alone you have a choice of: 964 Turbos, 996, 993, Boxter S - not to mention, TVR, Noble and a few prancing horses.

£30k puts some serious metal (and GRP) in the hands of the keen performance car enthusiast who doesn't want to sell a kidney to have some fun at the weekends.

Interstingly, GT suggested £30-£40k for a really mint Turbo. This seemed a little high to me, but it is a rare beastie so I'd expect a fair spread on price related to the quality of the individual car.

Great looking Turbo btw.

Who needs 30k? I showed Bernard a sub-10k Turbo 2 the other day And it had a rear wing that made Bernard's look diddy.

Oh, and I wouldn't be domster if I didn't point out that for 30k you could have a lovely 964RS

Yes the 964RS, good point I shouldn't have overlooked that.

I recall a 993 Turbo owning friend encouraging me to buy a left hooker 964RS a few years back. In the end I did not - i'm sure it would have been a fantastic drive and they seem to have increased in value over the last 4 years!(i may be wrong?) ... you could almost covince a sceptical bank manager that you were making a canny investment.

£10k Turbo 2?? that's the intimidating thing when buying an real exotic that is moving towards the classic stage of life - there is an enormous spread in price £10k to £40k (per GT), very difficult to acurately arrive at a fair offer price for a prospective purchase

At 10k it was a dog (now looking much nicer, stripped out for track slag purposes, with many improvements)...

Was Cat D and guess what was behind the passenger airbag cover? Nothing! Hehe, pikey repairers or what? Shows you should check behind your airbag panel if buying second hand

WOW! Looks fantastic and a few fruity mods to make it even wilder.

Thanks - I hadn't had a look at the Pistonheads classified of late, I've been planning a purchase for early next year - Every two years I buy myself a new sports car for my Birthday (sad I know...).

But then again two years with my current car are 'nearly' up and a rear wheel drive Turbo is at the top of the shopping list.....

The flip side of the dilemma (if you could ever describe the joy of sports car buying as a dilemma!) is I need to come to terms with the necessary decision to sell my beloved Tuscan (current car) - we've spent many a happy mile together and I still get a buzz every time I turn the key or the exhaust crackles on the over-run.

Decisions, decisions.....

You not wrong there toppstuff.. that is the stuff of dreams.

Fantastic website - that is probably the most jaw dropping display of Porsches I have ever seen. GT 2, 3 various Turbos (2 and 4 wheel drive) lovelly maritime blue RS lightweight (sold - to some lucky fella/lass). I've never heard of them before, but they certainly stock some amazing gear.

Now bookmarked for future drooling and day dreaming.

For purists this could not be bettered. Non purists can save some serious folding though, as a vgc Turbo 2 could be brought to the same level of looks and given superior performance whilst retaining reliability for considerably less than the price differential of 100%. Course, I'm totally unbiased on such matters

Edited to add more daydream material, a friend's Gemballa GTR 600, based on a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.8 RS engine. 600 horses subsequently gained another stable and became 700, carrying only 1250kg IIRC. Yum.

May have been there for quite some time, not sure where it is now. Was hoping it would be back home. Sure takes the turbocharged 911 theme somewhere impure at a tad over the market price of our Turbo 2s

Have been pondering about getting the black carbon rear top spoiler fitted to mine, as thought the black carbon would go with the black wheels, etc.

Though am unsure if it would look ridiculous on mine.
