It's 5p worth of paint sealant applied in 10 minutes for £300 or whatever they get away with. Literally. I would sue for attempted rape.
Bit of confusion here. If its opc that money includes a professional detail prior to application of the sealant. If you are having your car detailed anyway why would you not what a sealant on the paint, even if it's just for Uv protection?

As all new cars should be pro detailed, I don't see what the fuss is about.

used car is another matter...

Well I did ask for a discount.

And I did get the bag of bits that I have never used.

And I never use anything more than soap and water.

And I don't pay for detailing.

All I can say is that the car comes up clean and shiny shiny, it does not suffer bird cr*p, what's not to like ?

Maybe OPC Leeds did what they should have done ... happy days smile

No confusion here Carl. It's a new car according to the OP. It's the responsibility of the dealer to deliver it as such without it needing a full mop and the customer shouldn't pay extra for a detailer, simply because the OPC in-house monkeys can't decontaminate and seal a new car without swirling it (frankly, any idiot would do a better job at home with a little bit of care and understanding of basic detailing procedures without paying a "pro" detailer).

Absolute waste of money. Spend your money on a good detail and wax......

Don't take it. This is a profit making extra only, not a benefit to you.

No matter how good the polish or sealant is, this 'life cover' is bullst. Top notch wax will need reapplying with regular use.

Our local garage tried to actually tell me it was compulsory with all their new cars. I told them if they touched the car I would refuse it, let alone paying for the 'life shine'.

I also tell them not to wash the car when in for service.

Take the money and get a proper detailing business to get a decent coat of wax on it from day 1.

Or invest in your own products and research proper cleaning techniques.
