997.1 Tip rev range 6, how?
Discussion
Ok, so i have seen a few reading in 6 & I have always just thought it was a glitch, but I have never seen it with consistant over revs in 1,2,3,4 &5 before, so how can this be possible, & what implications does this have for manuel cars showing high rev ranges?
I'm not interested in people telling me to leave the car alone, it's not mine, I just want to know how this can be possible?
Ta.

Hi,
Okay the only way that this can be done is when on downhill you shift up at max rpm in manual mode, you can go pass the rev limit, and certainly on a 997.1 turbo, you can bounce the limiter as it does not change up automatically from 2nd to 3rd.
Either way, I think it is total Bol%$$$ so it wouldn't worry me if the car had it.

When I asked how a Tip could log over revs above range 1 and I was told this could happen if one was going down a hill, I would guess a steep hill.I'm not interested in people telling me to leave the car alone, it's not mine, I just want to know how this can be possible?

I'd have to see the entire over rev range counts and time of events though to perhaps be able to do a meaningful sanity check of the numbers.
Sincerely,
Rockster.
