Engine spec and power, suspension spec, plus quite a few interior details and notably the lovely Recaro seats usually standard on S, but optional on others (This particular T does have Recaro seats or more likely replicas). Externally not a lot really, just a few minor details. A well sorted T upgraded close to S spec is what I would go for today with original E and S prices heading through the roof. All variants are great cars if well sorted. (obviously the price!)

Well put - last of the high compression engines before emissions got in the way. You have to wring their necks to get the most out of them but I think the 2.2 range is among the best of all the Porsche engines - at least sound wise (and I speak as an ex GT3 owner). And unlike the later cars the early ones feel light and agile - a well set up S is as close to a RS to drive as you can get (at least in standard form). Edited to add; and Ts the comparitive bargain of the bunch. The E is a dark horse and quicker than people think. The S a cracker but VERY expensive nowadays.

Prices all over the place, just like the condition of the cars. Last time I looked T values were around £30K and S values £60K ish, with E somewhere in the middle. Beware that most examples are complete dogs. Better to ask this question on the DDK forum.SlowlnFastOut said:

Phil Raby has a restored T with bills for 60k up at £35,000 ish. A good E is at least 50k. And a nut and bolt restored S by margue expert likely to be around £100k. A restoration wreck S can be 20k and you can spend 100k doing a top notch job to get it back together. My body restoration took nearly 600 hours and that did not include dissembly, sprying or assembly. Beware shiny cars riddled with rust - all UK cars have rust if original, it's just a matter of how much.drmark said:

Hmmm, the Phil Raby car looks nice indeed, but its a bit of a custom now really, a little bit of a 'bitsa' car, matching numbers and originality now are what drives the prices of these cars.Not knocking the Phil Raby car, just commenting.
