Seen this car for sale at a few dealerships in last 12 months - does it belong to someone on here?

I don't think so, at least there's no seller profile from when it was advertised 6 weeks ago. http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

Does anyone know the car? Went to see it yesterday and I'm no expert buy any means but it had bits of dust in paint on the inner door frames. The roof looked like it had been painted and some filler showing through the paint. Was informed it was an original panel car. I'm not precious as cars are built to be used but would be nice to know a bit more about the car. RSJ sold it 5 years ago for £59,995

I think if your untrained eye spots those sort of issues , walk away, esp as a 90k 993TTS should be spotless

If HWM told you they were original panels then they will be original panels. They are a very honest and straight business.

Hello Mr HWM, most would have said the opposite.....

I wonder how long this thread will last.....as with all HWM threads the name and shame rule seems to get the thread closed very quickly.

Those 993 turbos had filler added at the factory and dust in the paint, these are good signs of originality.

I could be wrong though.

No Sir, this is one of our own cars - we don't do SOR

Of course, it will come with a full 12 month no quibble warranty and we will be more than happy to refund you in full if you are not completely happy with our purchase experience.

I think when we are talking money like this a car need to be perfect.
HWM seem to get bad press on here albeit i don't know them that well & have had no dealings.
All cars of this age will have had paint, and a dealer that says otherwise would lose credibility with me straight away.

the cars had paint and they were very up front about it. The point where the roof looks painted and drivers inner door frame has paint dust you start wondering if its had a large impact. There's only 23 cars in the country so quite difficult to find. I agree at £90k it needs to be perfect

Also rather than taking the piss out of the dealer can you comment on the car if you know it. They have some genuinely stunning metal in there. Fezza 250 for £1.3m and Fezza Daytona. 10k Mile 964 RS to die for. Some very very special cars in stock

Yes, it's about time PHers were far more positive about HWM. Give them the benefit of the doubt! rofl

I do think everybody on here jumps on the bandwagon when it comes to bad press etc.
If its genuine then fair play, but in my experience i don't judge every book by its cover or by gossip on internet forums.
I think if you have the kind of money to spend 90k on an old car you would get the best inspection money can buy and then make a calculated decision based on that. I would suggest that if the car has got history it would come out in an inspection.
Lovely thing to own though.

Forget the dealer. Hopefully not every car they sell is as bad as their reputation?

Get an independent inspection of the car done. Judge the pork, not the pig pen.
