Help is sought, as my instrument cluster in my 993 (rev counter, speedo and clock) are misting up when I drive for more than 30 mins. I have been playing around with the aircon and heating settings and whilst it stops at a certain point and doesn't get worse, it does not go away. Anyone seen this before?

If I leave mine outside for a night and then drive her if its been wet, all the dials mist up, sometimes they are misted already when I get in her.
Saying that, 10 minutes with the heater on and they clear up. Never heard them mist up again or whilst driving though. Bit bizarre, but wouldn't say there was a problem though. Just old school Porsche me thinks

Common fault on all air-cooled 911's
I once read it was due to a poor seal on the bonnet.
I wouldn't worry about it, all goes with agricultural nature of the cars.

If it bothers you enough remove them from the car, take out the bulbs from the back and then leave the instruments in your airing cupboard for a couple of days. (They just pull straight out. If your tacho has the OBC the steering wheel needs to be removed to remove it.)

Check your front lid seal (they split in the corners) and also the heater drain (shut front lid and pour water into the grille above the lid/scuttle - it should all pour back out under the car. Two checks worth making regularly but generally TADT as said above;

Mine to - Like they said all part of the character, although it maybe time for a full interior valet from a specialist. Seats could do with refurbishment so may get them to look at the misted up rev counter. Mind you the de-mister fan has just quit so a few things on the list to do!

Only misting?... You should be happy that the black paint has not gone all crackly and started peeling yet!

Here's what happened to the dials on my 964:

Strangely, only the fuel and oil gauges were affected.

I originally thought that it was some kind of condensation problem, but when I took the gauges apart, it was the plastic layer delaminating from the glass.
I removed the plastic layer, and fitted a rubber gasket behind the glass to take up the slack.

Hello, I have a problem with my instrument panel. The facias have air bubbles. They have been like this since I bought the car 11 years ago. Not sure how they got like that. Does anyone knows how or who can replace these ?
