Porsche 987 Boxster Spyder Purchase
Discussion
After 3/4 months of gleaming knowledge from owners and looking at some cars I am finally ready to purchase.
I have decided on a white car with a lightweight philosophy(low spec), am open to either manual or pdk.
If you are a Spyder owner and are thinking of selling your car then please drop me a line.

Sorry, I forgot to add to my original post '....if my numbers come up on the Euromillions tonight.'
Strange thing, but the less spec on a Spyder the more it's worth.
Much, much more.
Apparently.
One without wheels or an engine weighs the least and is worth double any other example.Strange thing, but the less spec on a Spyder the more it's worth.
Much, much more.
Apparently.
That's true, that is.

when people say less spec or low spec......Strange thing, but the less spec on a Spyder the more it's worth.

less spec is deceptive for noobs as the weight options are free, and the nice options cost lots :-)
people seem to comment on my car because it has this "no spec" lol but it was about £65k when new, hardley low spec or less spec.
I guess every one who owns one in any spec is very happy with their car hence buying one :-)
But it seems even after 3 years people are still unsure about what the car is, even the trade have no clue about them.
I have never seen a bad review of the car, and I must have looked at 30+ from every mag and every website, the car even won Best handling car 2010 in the states.
I'll leave you with my own personal car reviewed by Autocar :-), you will note when new it had the buckets, hence why I told Porsche to put them back in as some muppet had taken them out, prob a dealer with no idea. A bit like Porsche OPC Sutton where the manager speced every Spyder and Cayman R with Turbo wheels and took off the spyder wheels lol

I would say to the OP watch your "lightweight philosophy(low spec)" idea as low spec is not what you really want. the st options cost nothing, as they were free to add back in and dealers did this A: because they were free and B: because they thought cars would not sell ,so speced them like they would a normal Boxster.
the better cars are all high spec and were quite expensive new, so don't be fooled thinking just because the car has a a Radio or sports seats it's high spec, as these type of options were free lol.
ps. this thread made me fail my new years resolution of not posting during Jan and Feb lol, but as you were, not posting again :-p

Sound like my attempts for a 'dry January'...It's not really the time to sell a Spyder is it, especially with snow on it's way. Could be a good time to pick up a bargain at the end of the month though from a dealer if most people can't get out of their houses.
