Guys, and Benno particularly,

Are you sure you can get the sports exhaust on a November build?

I've got a November build "S" and Porsche GB's computer threw out my order code for the Sports Exhaust - I'm being told "possibly January build" - "but maybe a lot later" - so I'm going for the November build car and then add the exhaust at a later date (8 hours labour estimated!)

Must admit I'd love to get it on the car from the outset.

Also specced mine with 19" Sport design wheels (the new ones) - anyone else gone for these??

Kept PASM on mine instead of the NCO of the -20mm susp - last time I specced that (on a 996 facelift) the thing was nearly undriveable on the back roads I frequent.

RED or Metallic Black is the biggie?????

trying to keep mine sensible and sporty so only gone for sports seats, CD, Sport Chrono Plus pack, and the exhaust - first time I've ordered a 911 and the options havent been into five figures!

Hi, I would drive an S before your spec is finalised. The PASM was so, so and it might be worth having the minus 20 based on how it felt havign driven it today

I've been having sleepless nights for weeks (ok slight exaggeration) about the colour for my Nov build 997S. After finally seeing the car this weekend I'm convinced that it looks much better in lighter colours, so I have switched from Midnight Blue to Artic Silver with the Navy interior which looks much richer than black.

I've gone way over the top with the extras but I once again found that the standard electric seats are far more comfortable for my broad shoulders than the new adaptive sports seats.

You should all be aware that if you don't use sat nav or the phone, then you shouldn't waste your money ordering them as they are now modular and can be retrofitted to any 997 so that dealers are not left with unsaleable non-sat nav cars. That's the reason that all 997s have the PCM screen as standard.

I also noticed that the 2 standard Carreras were not UK spec as they didn't have full leather. This is not pre-production as someone mentioned, but this is the standard configuration for the 997 elsewhere - PCGB decided that they needed full leather as standard for the UK market.

Now we are all starting to see the cars "in the flesh" whats the consensus on the right and wrong options?

Personally I'm glad I ordered a NON-Silver car as every other car my OPC have had to date is bloody Silver!

I'm glad I ordered the 19" Sport design wheels - they are much better looking than the standard "S" rims.

I wish I HAD ordered BOSE - missed the boat on that one (order confirmed before I was able to change spec.)

Glad I did not order the phone or Sat Nav modules - these can be added at a later date by anyone who wants them (i.e not me!)

Glad I did not order the Sports Suspension / slippery diff. - drove one thus suspended last week - fine for the track but bloody useless on the mixed quality roads I drive on every day.

Pissed that I have to wait for the Sports Exhaust - especially as I'll have to pay the labour to get it fitted as and when it's available - anyone know the latest update on availability??

Sports Seat = Excellent - a must have.

Sport Chrono Pack = Ditto

Don't think there's anything else I want/need on the car.

How is everyone else finding theirs?
