Have they actually looked at the car they're selling?

That aside, that's two £45k Spyders on the market. clap

wink
Worth every penny, just look at new cars and how expensive they are Spyder even at £45k is a bargain.

Your platinum had full leather too didn't it? Nice to have.
Yes, makes a big difference.
Platinum car had Alcantara door panels and wheel too
Hmmm... wondering if I've very recently bought your old car Beaver. It's a 2011 Platinum with extended alcantara (inc wheel, handbrake, gear lever), leather on the doors and dash, carbon seats, black wheels, PSE, short shift, PCM, phone, climate... absolutely love the spec, had a couple of great drives already and have fallen for it, they really are a fantastic package ... was if yours by any chance?

Need to take some photos once its clean again!

That does indeed sound like mine, I found a YouTube clip of the guy I sold it to being spotted in London:

I picked my new one up yesterday, no short shift and it feels plain wrong without it, so will definitely be adding that in when it has a service.

Yes that's the one, nice to find a previous owner on here smile

Congrats on the new (3rd!) Spyder! I do like the SS, feels a little stiff sometimes but once you get going that seems to go away and the short shift really suits the car.

Did anyone else think "what was the point?" when they viewed the clip?

Hi to all you lucky Spyder owners, will hopefully be joining you soon. Sold my Caterham mid Jan and attempted to by 3 Spyders since. Missed the Silver car at Harston OPC by an hour turned up and the new owner was there putting a deposit on it! Then the White one at Silverston OPC the Sunday I was due to go I was snowed in and someone bought it that afternoon over the phone! The the Aqua blue car at 911V, I see it listed on the Friday (perfect spec for me) but I wasnt sure on the colour without pics on the website, earliest I could get there was Tuesday and I am now kicking myself as the pictures posted here it looks awesome!! If any one here's of a Good'n anywhere please let me know?????

Chambers,

Complete sympathy to you, you have to work fast on getting Spyders. I just picked mine up this weekend (Porsche Swindon) and did the deal in a day. Seemingly they were inundated with calls after they sold it to me and are actively contacting their current owners to see if they want to move to another Porsche. If you want, speak to Paul Smith who I dealt with and register your interest, you might just get lucky. Feel free to mention my name (George).

The good news is that as you have sold the Caterham you can move fast but keep on plodding, call some Porsche garages and say that your looking and something will come up.

Make sure you look at the Porsche portal at least 3 times a day so you get a good lead on everyone else.

Thanks George.

Colchester, Silverstone and Cambs PC's are looking and I assure you I am looking 10 times a day! Even the Bentley Cambs car seems to have sold now.

Nothing is ever easy where I am concerned but I am prepared to wait for one, the right one for me.

Lee,

Would definitely recommend you also cast the net a bit further, even Edinburgh/Glasgow and Aberdeen if necessary. If you want me to view a car in Edinburgh/Glasgow then more than happy to help out,

I suppose the good news is that a lot of cars purchased new in 2010 on new reg with Porsche PCP will be hitting the dealers soon, so suspect majority of dealers will know what's coming in.

Don't know your ideal spec but there was a White Spyder being sold in Edinburgh through GTi world, manual but without Sports Exhaust. I did not pursue it as I wanted the PSE and he wanted £500 less than I got my car through a Porsche centre. It was a salesman's own car.

There seems to be a bit of a run on them at the moment but cars come up all the time. Not sure if I'd rush into something which isn't the right car for you though - probably worth taking your time.

I was lucky with both mine. Both desireable spec but equally both very different!

George,

I am prepared to go anywhere for the right car no problem with that. I also want PSE, I did offer on the Mc Gurk car to allow for painting wheels black and 2 new tyres but they wouldn't do the deal as they were getting lots of enquiries. I was a little wary as it is a 2010 car out of warranty in March and by the time add 2 years porsche warranty the car would be up to £37k ish and I missed two 2011 cars at that money.

Thanks for the offer of viewing a car I am in Essex so that could be useful.

Last one I took time on you bought! LOL

You are right though I won't rush and buy anything it will have to have my desired spec. Just worries me only 200 or so in the country so could be months in the waiting.

You snooze you lose!

That car could have sold a few times over. They did get an awful lot of interest. I put a deposit down within 30 mins of seeing the ad.

edit..oh, and it's got Keith Flint's autograph in the owners manual wink

Sorry smile

Ultimately if you weren't certain about the colour then you did the right thing.

My only real issue was whether I'd like the PDK or not. So far, I like it.

I have only driven a manual and loved it but fancy a PDK. I buzzed my Caterham so think its a safer option for me! Also the launch control also appeals.

I will keep searching and post again when successful...I wouldn't hold your breath though :-(

Chambers - I also sold my Caterham in mid-jan and was in the same boat as you, feeling like there were few cars flowing on to the market and wondering how long I'd have to wait. Really happy with the change from Caterham to Spyder so hang on for the right one...good things come to those who wait.

I'd say the advice on here is good, there will be cars with the right spec come up just look every day and be ready to view. I was the chap at Harston, should have said Hi smile

m33ufo - not an exciting video, guess he'd never seen one before!
