+1If it were me, I would sell your C2 privately (even if it's a fire sale privately you'll get more that you would from a dealer) and then buy the best of the private warrantied cars in the classified. For my purposes just as good as buying it from Porsche as it's a Porsche fully comprehensive warranty. This way you get the Porsche cover and peace of mind and don't pay the dealer premium. Any protection you get from Sale of Goods Act is covered by the warranty and more. Last I looked there were a couple of private cars with warranties.
Be patient. I know the money is burning a hole in your undies, but do your research, find the right car and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble.
The cars were near on £90k new and they're now available for almost half that. Running costs are exactly the same though so make sure you don't end up with one that's be looked after with a view to the owner's wallet rather than the car.

Sorry havent read all the posts here but if there's a nice private car and the seller is confident of its condition etc they should be fine about taking it to the local OPC for the 111 point inspection to gauge if its eligible for the 2 yr warranty.
On the basis the inspection pans out as expected you could then agree that he buys the warranty and then its transferred into yr name when you take delivery a few days later. If the 111 point inspection doesn't pan out or flags too much work being required to be eligible for the warranty, you have only spent the 180 or so quid for the OPC inspection. Requires a bt of trust but is do-able. I recently did this aswell as getting a seperate Fearnsport inspection which confirmed no panel damage.

Hasn't the OP put a deposit down on this car already?? I'm guessing the questions is whether this is refundable or whether he's gone past the point if no return and all becomes rather academic to come point...
Really hope you can get this car to an OPC for a PPI if not then demand you're deposit back - was it cash or card? If the latter then you may have some claw backs via your back if you want..

Hey Noleb - Guess what, I just had the garage with your GT3 on the phone asking me if I was sorted with a car (which I am) as your deal had fallen through! Glad to hear you've seen the light sir. I did have great pleasure in telling them to 'do one' as the diabolical feedback from fellow PH's (and the way they delt with me) would mean (quote) wild horses wouldnt get me near that car!

Agreed! Battle plans!(1) Sell that C2 privately, you'll get joke offers from dealers (wrong colour, devaluing, too many around, etc) for 5-10% for than the dealers are offering and you should get a swift bite if it's a straight car.
(2) Buy a private warrantied car and rest assured that you've bought under dealer prices but still have official Porsche cover. I've enjoyed the warranty myself and had quite a few things sorted (I'm a pedant).
(3) Enjoy and put up some pictures.
I keep going back to that cobalt blue car I posted and the deeper cobalt blue (wrapped) car, they look wonderful in that deep blue and a lovely change from hospital white. Each to his own though, I wouldn't kick a GT3 out of bed in any colour.
Best of luck.

Hi all,
Yes I've backed out of the deal, trouble is that up to now I've lost my deposit :-(
Rather loose deposit than have my pants pulled down mate! Why dont you check the car at 911 Virgin as it looks quite nice, as does this one http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012... I spoke to a guy called Ray and he's very cool to deal with.Yes I've backed out of the deal, trouble is that up to now I've lost my deposit :-(

I think that was inevitably a good move. As for deposit - How much are we talking and you have many many reasons should a court want to know why you pulled out if you need to go down that route.Yes I've backed out of the deal, trouble is that up to now I've lost my deposit :-(

Thank you for the kind wordsBest of luck.
It took quite some time debating which colour to go for, as a lot of colours really suit the car well.
In the end I wanted a darker tone to the car, and ended up with some choices in 2x4 inches on a colour choice ring - standing in a friend of mines house trying to decide.
We tried 3 or 4 different rooms with different lighting to see the effect of different light sources and the play in the metallic film properly - and ended up with the darkest blue they could supply.
I have in no way regretted the choice. The wrap is stunning, and laid double on the front also protects the pristine original silver paint underneath.
Omly one thing to do - GO for it
