I just don't think quoting potentially misleading figures from a 'source' is particularly helpful to those making decisions about their purchases (IMHO). Why not wait to hear until something's official or the issues been rectified?
Because the source has been proved fairly accurate in the past and as pointed out above, the dealers are often the last to know! What decisions are there to be made at the moment?
You either already have an order in and are waiting to hear when it will arrive (in which case the news about a low number of 2013 deliveries is directly relevant) or You haven't got an order in (in which case you are too late for the first or second batch of cars)....

I've been told this afternoon my Turbo S is likely to be delayed and the OPC is expecting a bulletin next week. APOLO1 do you know if this is true.
It was due to complete 30th Oct, no idea to the extent of the delay yet.
My Turbo S is on the Boat....Not heard o any delays on Turbo S....Up date on GT3 30 cars this year....It was due to complete 30th Oct, no idea to the extent of the delay yet.

Hang on, on what basis are you saying this source has been proven to be accurate, surely we won’t know that until the cars actually turn up?
To recap:
On the Delays thread, he posts at the end of Sept that there aren’t any delays.
Start of Oct he says on this thread that there are delays.
Later he tells us he knows the problem and when it will be sorted (but keeps the details to himself – what a tease)
More recently he tells us not to expect any cars this year.
Today he tells us there will be cars this year.
In time I’m sure he will be proven to be accurate, but only because he has covered every possible eventuality.

Believe what you want I only repeat what I am told....only 30% of the 132 cars will arrive this year.....Hang on, on what basis are you saying this source has been proven to be accurate, surely we won’t know that until the cars actually turn up?

= 40 cars.So "50 cars or less this year" is correct. The reality is Porsche are passengers in this ride, and people are doing their best to provide the most accurate guestimate.

So is it 40 then - your last post just before this one said 30 ? Thought my maths was poor (My Turbo S is on the Boat....Not heard o any delays on Turbo S....Up date on GT3 30 cars this year....)

20k Km is about 12k miles so you are both right.
Lets see if they revise it downwards though, might end up at 4.5-6k like an Evo Mitsubishi at this rate. Ok, only joking
I always remember it being said that beyond 8000rpm the forces are really at the limit, that was a while back though and perhaps things have moved on. But then again Porsche past history with non Mezger engines is not top notch.
Considering the non S Turbo is not much more and has more power, better traction, and no gremlins engine wise has anyone considered jumping ship? It probably does not sing as much but will be faster A to B.
I do wonder if the Porsche guys in charge of the 991 Turbo are teasing their colleagues at this point on the GT3 line... I bet their is some intense intra company rivalry there.
Saw my first 991 Turbo S in the metal today - I have to say it looks loads better in real life than in the photo's / vids - was tempted , but still prefer the GT3 - I have to say they are just sooo expensive - this and the depreciation curve makes the the GT3 look like amazing value Lets see if they revise it downwards though, might end up at 4.5-6k like an Evo Mitsubishi at this rate. Ok, only joking

Because they only put out 200hp.
But the Honda is only half the capacity. IMHO it's to do with the pistons and rods, and the ability to keep them attached to each other inside the confines of the block.PS, I have had a GT3 997, and presently drive a Gen2 RS 3.8 so do hope Porshce get it right and in a timely fashion, not with these delays. I also drove an Elise with a Honda Engine in the Britcar 1000kms and was really impressed with the engine.

One nutter at work is thinking of getting a manual Carrera s with powerkit, pdcc -20mm, pccb and buckets as an alternative. Cost and weight would be issue imo
Why wouldn't he get a GT3? Because of the lack of rear seats? With a spec like that on a 991 the depreciation will be horrendous.Anyway, each to their own.
