650s

I am giving vary serious consideration to buying a 650s For my own use, On track not much will come close imv,

Albeit I have a massive problem with deprecation on this one, along with my understanding is that yet another face-lift is out in Sep.

With 9 month old 12c coupes almost 100k behind list and 12CSPs not far behind, I just fail to see how the 650s will not follow this?

IMHO

Depends if you think the 650s is 100k+ better than a barely used 2012 12c with 4k miles on the clock and all the good spec...

On the other note.. talking about birthday I thought I would get mine (GT3 that is) for the 1st of April and in Jan was already picturing collection on the special day and direct blast to the countryside for the day. Hmm. not gonna happen.

in comparison to the 650S in relation to a late 12c, its about the same diff, to say a standard 991 C2S, to say a C2S with a power kt upgrade, and sport design body kit, along with the addition of CCBDs.

Sorry about your wait on the 991GT3, all I can say is that the wait is well worth it....Not driven any car that is as much Fun all round to drive. On track you just want to keep driving and driving until the fuel runs out...

Spoke to a nice lady at Porsche GB earlier in the week. No real new information but in her opinion some kind of cash compensation would be forthcoming. I told her that this would be the least that i would be expecting given that in my view the value of the car would be diminished because of a new engine. She was of the opinion that the cars value wold not be affected, shocker lol.

As I bought the GT3 for a lot of different reasons, among them various charity events for terminally sick children, I can't wait any longer and will be returning my car to Porsche.
If anyone is interested pm me - search my posts in this thread for pictures - LHD, done 1,100 km, almost all options, buckets, CS, agate gray €180.000 list incl German 19% vat. but can be sold without vat

Makhno-
You're selling a car that can't be driven or insured?

The only options are to hold or return - otherwise you're selling a "future" so would need to sell at a discount to make it attractive to a buyer. Commodity trade...

Good thought and based on the fact it's currently an expensive paper weight my best offer is £25k cash wink

1. The engine is being fixed
2. My OPC has been great
3. Once fixed, the quality of the car and the limited numbers will ensure superb residuals.

Yeah, I don't get the whole 'why would you buy a car you can't drive argument'. Deposits went down up to a year before delivery so if someone comes along now and has to wait 2-3 months and collects in June/July then that's a result. I can guarantee you'd all have taken that on a March/April deposit. The fix will be satisfactory - way too much at stake. So will such limited supply, it doesn't surprise me that people are still buying at a premium on the basis they know they can't drive for a couple of months.

Calm down guys, I'm only joking wink

There's far too much stress going on this thread. We know it'll be sorted and it will be EPIC (I've said that before) and if I were in such a position to have one, I would without any worries.

While we're on the quality issues, there is currently an ongoing issue with new Boxsters and Caymans where its clear an accountant has overruled an engineer and a cheap plastic part has been fitted into the brake pedal assembly. If you've been driving around for an extended period of time with the heaters on then you get a PSM failure light and a Stop/Start failure followed by a cruise control failure. The VW rot has started to set in at Porsche...

..remember what happened when Chrysler started to meddle at Mercedes?

It does make you wonder, the wife's Boxster is not two years old yet and has started to develop gremlins, heater blowers packed up, now the memory seats don't work and there is also a recall on the clutch which they are doing, it's not giving me a great deal of confidence in the car with regards keeping it longer term!

The wife also said last night how much faster her loan Boxster was than her own car, which is really weird becuase she has 3.4 S and the loan car is 2.7, go figure??
