You can have heated buckets in a Cayman, seems odd that you can't in a GT3?
This will probably be down to the "weight police" - they also banned parking sensors - really frustrating ! smile

Can Porsche provide a list of how much options weigh?

One nutter at work is thinking of getting a manual Carrera s with powerkit, pdcc -20mm, pccb and buckets as an alternative. Cost and weight would be issue imo

Why wouldn't he get a GT3? Because of the lack of rear seats? With a spec like that on a 991 the depreciation will be horrendous.

So that's roughly a third of what was expected, equivalent to a 2-month delay?

I nearly did the same as your mate but didn't want a 7 speed manual, if it was a 6 speed box then I too would have signed away on that depreciation timebomb!

Are quotes like this necessary??

Are you an OPC? Do you work for Porsche GB?

Yes they are necessary! No and No.

Go back through this thread and you'll see this chap hears stuff before OPCs etc.

Was surprised to see Carrera S is lighter stock than GT£.

Would depreciate like hell, used ones are already in the 60's at the end of the day it's just a stock model whatever you do to it.

Just checked my spec sheet from OPC which says "main service interval 20, 000km/2 years".

Still don't know whether that's good or bad.
20k Km is about 12k miles so you are both right.

Lets see if they revise it downwards though, might end up at 4.5-6k like an Evo Mitsubishi at this rate. Ok, only joking tongue out

I always remember it being said that beyond 8000rpm the forces are really at the limit, that was a while back though and perhaps things have moved on. But then again Porsche past history with non Mezger engines is not top notch.

Considering the non S Turbo is not much more and has more power, better traction, and no gremlins engine wise has anyone considered jumping ship? It probably does not sing as much but will be faster A to B.

I do wonder if the Porsche guys in charge of the 991 Turbo are teasing their colleagues at this point on the GT3 line... I bet their is some intense intra company rivalry there.

Yes we are - but this is interesting and if true really annoying as personally I'm a great fan and advocate of a warm bum and as such In the name of European equality it should be available here too - if this isn't the case then I think we should quit the European Union - as simple as that ! smile
You may have the chance to vote UKIP before the GT3 arrives......

Looks like 991 Carreras could be appreciating.....?

Tried buying a red, yes red, coupe as winter hack, 1 owner 991 C2S pdk Feb 12 61 plate 8k miles, slightly above average spec, from Porsche finance, someone bid £71k! Trade book £60200!

Looks like a lot of these are being exported.
