Lovely car, stunning in so many ways
The reality is that the mkt for limited edtion 911s of the "cosmetic" variety verus those of the racing /performance is very limited (especially used)
The ones being marketed at £140k+ appear to have zero /delivery miles, but little suggestion they are selling either ???
I thought (for about 10 mins) about buying it, but for me it felt like a very unsafe place to keep my money, unlike a GT3 or even a std 911 that pretty much has spot values in the mkt, I feared if I needed to sell (one day) the discount could be huge.
Very special car.....but perhaps only for the brave or the very wealthy

Agreed. At 408 BHP and the design touches, I admit that it's a highly desirable and special 997 and worth some level of premium, but not the 50K premium. Or maybe I'm missing something here. The reality is that the mkt for limited edtion 911s of the "cosmetic" variety verus those of the racing /performance is very limited (especially used)

We were told by the guy who "designed " it that he did it mostly by raiding the parts bin but that there were some touches to make sure it was not a bin job such as roof, colour and other details. Never really appeared to interest me but there are some who would want it so yes, it will have some demand.

Not seeing it tbh and judging by that I don't think CH is either. Looks great, lots of leather, a bit more power, ceramic brakes, body kit and that's about it. Porsche sold them all so more power to them, but I think you'd have to have a touch of the mental / money to burn to buy one of those over say a C2S. My understanding was that you could get almost all the body kit and other extras as part of tequipment anyway if you wantedBy some freaking twist of fate, I just bumped into one (not the one for sale , but on a very funny private number plate) and got chance to have quick look round it.
As an exercise in aesthetics, it is bloody epic, perfectly formed, all the small elements come together to form a stunning and unique car. Nothing looks out of place, from the lowered stance, fuch wheels, two tone interior, ducktail, stripes, colour , roof bubbles etc. etc.
Setting aside the concerns about premiums and potential losses etc, the reality is if this car wore a Singer or Ruf badge it probably would be acclaimed as masterpiece and probably be even more expensive.
I saw it parked up near a Ferrari F12, as I got back into my car to drive off, I glanced back to take one more look (at the Porsche)

and to answer some questions...
Prior to this I had a 997 PDK Turbo and a 430 Scuderia and have had a GT3 along with many other 911's since 1988 so it was perhaps a different decision for me than most.
I wanted something that was amazing but i didnt need blasting into space anymore.
My experience has been wonderful and I would recommend anyone who has thought about one to actually go and see one and drive one.
Here's some interesting 911 Sport Classic links...
"Sitting stationary next to a red Carrera GT and a black 959, the Sport Classic had a magnetic effect on passersby. With fingers pointing and cameras aimed, they were drawn to the grey Porsche like gnats to a spotlight. Europeans recognized the car – an occurrence that would repeat itself often over the next couple days.
Running the full Le Mans circuit in a 911 Sport Classic was unforgettable, but the real eye-opener occurred on the public roads. The Carrera S is a fine automobile, yet the subtle mechanical upgrades found on this very low production model (especially the sport exhaust) completely transform its character from exciting to exhilarating. It's a mathematically perfect equation of wheelbase, curb weight, horsepower, torque, transmission gearing, contact patch, ride comfort and driving position. In terms of sheer driving enjoyment, it could be the best street car on the planet"

32 Cars were delivered to uk in total.
31 were 2010 registered and a single car was registered to Jay Kay (Jamiroquai) in 2012.

8 have now been exported leaving just 23 UK cars.

I was offered one over 18 months ago for £105 k from 2 separate sources. They are not an investment.
Cars generally do depreciate before they start to appreciate. It would not be possible to buy one today at 105K so they seem to have done the drop now.
Prices for left hand drive cars are strong too so thats a good sign.
Only time will tell as we all know but I doubt we will ever see even the 99K sport classic never mind less.
