Does anyone have any experience with compliance to the UK rear fog lights? My fog light is on the left and I'm not sure if this needs to be disconnected and I need to purchase a new rear lamp for the right side that includes a fog lamp.

Has anyone experience in this area? Is is easy to convert?

Thanks for your advice

Fog light must be central (single) or offside (single) if double IE near and offside |BOTH must work

I understand on the 997, it is possible to switch the fog light from LH/RH by swapping a circuit board over from one side to another. Is it the same for the 991 ?

For the 997, I believe you just need to swap a circuit board over from the left hand rear light to the right hand one.

Am trying to figure out if (read: hoping!) the 991 is the same.

Hi Kananga, could you share what light/lamp changes did you have to make for your 991 to get it registered in UK?

Sure, the front lights are fine, just need to confirm that the beam can be adjusted using the car’s software. I attached a picture of the screen as evidence.

For the rears, the 991 lights can’t be modified like the 997. So I had to buy new rear lights (and included the invoice with my application).

Reminds me, I still have them (never fitted them!) and need to sell them!

Hi Kananga, what was the process you followed? Just the IVA and submitted V55/5? Did you present the "picture of the screen" and "invoice" during IVA or part of V55/5?

I will double check over the weekend, as I scanned everything that was sent.

Can’t remember - memory fading as I hit old age!

Hi Kananga, did you get a chance to check the scanned documents you mentioned over the weekend?

HI! Sorry for the delay. Was called away to travel for work at short notice.

I had submitted a confirmation letter to the VCA from a Porsche indie and attached a screen shot of the pcm screen to confirm. This allowed them to confirm it satisfied criteria for use in the U.K.

Hi Kananga, I checked my 2016 991 PCM, and I couldn't find the settings to adjust the beams. Could you share the screenshot or tell me how I can access the PCM settings you mentioned. Thanks!

Sorry - think it was from the vehicle settings (using the OBC and the screen in the instrument cluster).

I looked at Porsche instrumentation cluster / OBC in details as well. I still couldn't find it. frown

Could you share the screenshot? Or tell me how to navigate there?

I can’t find the paperwork at the moment but it was definitely either in the instrument cluster or PCM. My car had full LEDs with PDLS, not sure if that changes things ?

PCM —> Car —> Option —> Set Car —> Vehicle Function —> Exterior Lights

Think the ignition may have needed to be on, and car stationary for this to work ?

IF they are xenon lamps they have no assymetric beam so do not need, nor are they able, to be adjusted for 'continental' driving.

Kananga, In that setting location I don't have that option. Thanks!

Thanks, Bennachie. That explains above then!

Ahhh. Could be that it was an option in mine due to nature of headlight.
