Just signed up on this forum, been on here loads in the past but never posted anything.

I like a bit of variety, in cars and opinions so have been enjoying the discussions. I might start joining in now smile

Anyways I've had a few cars, some good some bad!

My first car was this E reg Escort 1.3l, I think all new drivers should start with something as bad as this!

Had a couple other fords too, this Fiesta RS1800 was fun.

This Puma 1.7 was a nice drive, handed great and was pretty reliable too.

Had a few Japanese cars, including a few Toyota's

N/A MR2 was my first rwd car, only span it once in the wet, was going pretty slow at the time too!

Celica vvti, I loved this car, only the 140 version but a great drive, reliable, economical, fun and looked nice if I do say so myself.

Bit more power here with the Celica GT4, superb cars these, especially with a couple mods.

Another Celica GT4, this one was the WRC.

Had a few german cars too, BMW 318is

Golf GTI 1.8T, great car and engine!

Couple more Japanese 4WD turbos.

Impreza RB5, I love the classic impreza, I bought this one and did a few little mods, prodrive spoiler, new exhaust, brakes etc. Was a top car.

I also had an Evo 8, again with a few styling handling and power mods. Loved this too!

At totb

Something a bit more sensible, a  Bmw 325i sport.

I'm currently in between cars, driving a little 16v Clio smile Gonna have a look around thia forum for some inspiration for my next car.

Regards.

Nice history, OP. I especially like your ST205 and the RB5. I had a GTFour with the entire TRD catalogue thrown at it from the 6-way suspension to the carbon dash inserts and it was without a doubt the best car I've owned.

Cheers mate, st205's are excellent, especially with the suspension sorted, very underrated car.

They're so good I bought one twice driving

Very nice mate, love them with a low spoiler.

Both my black and silver GT4's had similar mods, 3in downpipe, exhaust, filter and boost controller set at 1.1 bar.

Black one was faster I think wink

Looks like I missed a couple smile

Bought this Land Rover Freelander to get me around last winter, I've heard all the horror stories about the 1.8 engine in these but thought I'd take a risk on it as I knew I wasn't keeping it for long.

It performed well in the snow and I never got stuck, engine didn't let me down either to be fair, I sold it on and it only cost me a few quid, fuel economy was a bit shocking though.

Currently pottering around in this clio 1.4 16v, my first French car!

It's an '03 plate and was very cheap imo.

I will run it till I decide on my next car, can't see me losing much, if anything on it, unless it explodes.

Thought I'd update this thread, keep it all in the same place.

Still got the 320d, went through MOT couple weeks ago, had a hole in the exhaust so I had to replace it (£70 used off ebay) passed nicely after that smile

Had it 18 months now and haven't spent a penny on it, apart from tax fuel, insurance and the above mentioned exhaust for MOT.

My wife's old Vauxhall Meriva died a death a couple months back so we were using the Compact as a family car, not really the most ideal so I picked this up a few weeks ago.

'03 BMW X5 3.0d

Quite good condition for it being 12 years old, recent MOT, service history folder of receipts etc

It drives very nicely, not had an X5 before, the 3.0d pulls well and does about 25mpg around town and 36 on a run according to the computer.

There are a few bits that need sorting on it, parking sensors don't work, and no evidence of the gearbox oil being changed so will probably do that sooner rather than later.

First job I did was sort the wing mirrors out

Before

After

It's the family wagon so my Wife will be driving it most, which means I get to replace the 320d soon biggrin

I've got the E46 M3 and 986 Boxster on the shortlist so far.
