This is horrid and wrong.

Porsche designed wheels for each generation of car. Must stay this way.
Cup1s or nothing.
My C2 had Cup1's and I loved them, but a lowered 964 on 16 inch design 90's looks great.

yes +1

The RUF Yellowbird wheels don't fit the 964 due to it's negative scrub radius front suspension which was designed to work with ABS.

RUF did however do wheels to fit the 964, personally I think they're one of the few aftermarket wheels that does suit the 964, but quite rare, though they do appear for sale occasionally.

It's a little known fact that the original Cup wheels designed for the Cup cars in their first couple of seasons are still available from Porsche.

The Yanks, bless'em, advertise them for ridiculous money, stating they're rare and sought after. Really ? the last time I checked (when I bought a set) they had something like 600 rears in stock and even more fronts. They're slightly wider than the stock Cup 1's both front and rear, the fronts are 8" the rears 9.5". The fronts fill the arches perfectly without spacers, the rear need a minimum 21mm spacer to clear the oil pipes (just as the Cup cars ran) In reality the rears will run a 28mm spacer and then fill the arches out nicely.

Approx £5-600 a pop, and worth every penny.

Cup 1's are the way to go. Maybe be a bit heavy but look just right.
But it is also worth having a look at your suspension especially the rear arms. From memory the 964 has a big rubber bush in the rear trailing arm sort of designed to give you a bit of rear wheel steer. 964 RS's do not have these.
They do actually Graeme, but Porsche stuck a thick washer either side of the bush to remove some of its compliance.

Lovely car by the way.

According to the catalogue they still do wheels but they are definitely not cheap (although I hope that is for a set!!!)

Firstly, stunning car, does it get used much, almost looks to clean to take out?

Secondly, thanks for that nugget of info., much appreciated, do you by any chance know the part numbers, offsets and weights for these wheels

Regretably those are 18" items that were fitted to later 993 RUF modified cars.
Personally, I think 18" wheels on a 964 are the work of the devil, others may think otherwise smile

These are the earlier RUF 17" versions designed for the 964 (I suspect NLA) :

Regrettably not, it's a near concours garage queen these days. The original magnesium wheels live in the spare room . . . . .

The wheel weights, ET numbers and part numbers can be found here (I'd double check the part numbers before ordering wheels of your OPC) :

thanks. aahh garage art, makes sense to me now

Are you a super disciplined self control ninja wink as any normal person wouldn't be able to help themselves and get it all dirty from thrashing the pants off it regularly?

Don't tell me, I bet your're married to a super model but only hold hands with her biggrin

Well, how can I put this ?
I'm a bigamist ! ! I've "married" several super models, some I just hold hands with, others "I thrash the pants off" . . . . (your words, not mine) hehe

Was so mortified by erica's comments, could no sleep so I scoured the web until I found the correct wheels for my disfigured 964, thank you so much for showing me the error of my ways...........................Phew

Cup 1 wheels are the way to go and I run those in the winter, but run 18s in the summer with these wheels. 18s are fine on a 964, just need setting the ride heights and geo up to compensate

C4 Lightweight:

My choice would be 7"/7.5"/8" front and 9" rear Design90s - the original wheels upsized.
