Sorry, but those are awful.
No worry's Mark, each to their own as they say. Personally I love them.

Ps. Are you still tracking a 968CS or are you using something different now??

Regretably those are 18" items that were fitted to later 993 RUF modified cars.
Personally, I think 18" wheels on a 964 are the work of the devil, others may think otherwise smile

These are the earlier RUF 17" versions designed for the 964 (I suspect NLA) :

smile
Does anyone know of any 18" RUF speedlines for sale?

Cup 1's just look so right on the 964 and the 928 GTS. I know they are heavy but hey ho. 18" speedlines ala 964 3.6 turbo also look great but they ride better on 17"s

Cup 1 wheels are the way to go and I run those in the winter, but run 18s in the summer with these wheels. 18s are fine on a 964, just need setting the ride heights and geo up to compensate

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but what modifications were required to upgrade to 18" Speedlines? I have a 964 C4 with the D90's and wanted to do the same, D90's for the winter and the Speedlines for the Spring/Summer months.

I've seen differing opinions about this, some say its a straight forward swap, but then others say, you need spacers and a wheel alignment, i would rather get the opinion of someone that has actually done it.

Thank you.

It's a little known fact that the original Cup wheels designed for the Cup cars in their first couple of seasons are still available from Porsche.

The wheel weights, ET numbers and part numbers can be found here (I'd double check the part numbers before ordering wheels of your OPC) :

Just realised the value of my RS mags which I'm going to retire to mum and dads spare room... Slippy excuse my ignorance; which are the 'original cup wheels', are you talking about regular cup 1's?

8 965.362.126.00 52 10.0 kg
8 965.362.126.01 52 10.6 kg
9.5 J 965.362.128.05 68 12.5 kg ???

And a second question anyone know a good source for bbs e88's/lm's, I actually prefer the look of these and as the car spends more time on track than the road might go that route, depending on price. Would 8jx18 and 10jx18 work? (I ask because thats the smallest Carnewal seem to sell)

Cheers

Evening Francis, I hope you're well ? smile
964 RS magnesium wheels are 7 1/2" X 17 front and 9" X 17 rears. The Cup 1's fitted at the factory and the Mille Miglia reps were available as 7" or 7 1/2" front and 9" rears.

The Cup wheels used on the early Cup cars (before they went to the 18" Speedline split rims) were 9 1/2" rears and 8" fronts (so a half inch wider than the magnesium wheels.
The 8" Cup fronts fit puuuuurfectly without spacers (and fill the arches out far better) the 9 1/2 rears need a fairly thick spacer (in the region of 28-30mm)
If you're heading into Matty's this week, my car is in there and has the wider Cup wheels fitted.

If you decide to go the 17" Cup route either get Matty or I to get them for you, both of us will get you a pretty hefty discount smile

only one man for LM's or E88's, Gert at Carnewal.
All good thanks Henry. I'm over in a few weeks to bounce off a few curbs so figure I need to pull my finger out and make a decision. Gold BBS just look so pretty they must be good for at least 5 seconds a lap. So my understanding was that the 'cup car' cup wheels are the same model/range as cup 1's but just in different sizes and offsets, correct? If so the 'Cup car' Cup wheels are 965.362.126.01 and 965.362.128.05? Will contact your man Gert and get a price also, eek.

Holy thread revival Batman!

I've stumbled about this very car locally, in need of some restoration I'd say.
