ahh. This is one of the reasons why you need to speak to exclusive directly.

My understanding is that 'yes' on a GTS 'special package' interior the stitching and finishing options are set as part of those interior packages, you have two choices in colour.

That don't mean you can't select acid green stitching by dropping the pack, just not as part of the cut price GTS interior pack, you will just pay more.

If you want Alcantara with Acid Green stitching I would imagine they will do it, you just need the correct options codes and pricing from exclusive.
Thanks for that, you'd think that the sales person would have been able to come to that conclusion wouldn't you, rather than the blank "Porsche said no" responses I'm getting currently.

To be honest, this isn't enjoyable one bit. Hopefully I will speak to someone with a bit of initiative soon.....

The first picture is apparently Birch Green (USA) that also has the 253 paint code, the second picture has been sent to me by Porsche GB as an example of Light Green, also paint code 253.
Can't answer your question, but I can try to offer you some advice from own experiences...

I had my Elise repainted in Viper Green a few years ago, so had to research old paint codes etc. A lot of colours have different names in different markets - in my case, it turned out that Viper Green was called Kelly Green and Emerald Green in other markets, but all have the same 225 paint code. So those cars are probably the same colour, just in very different lights.

Also, Porsche sometimes re-use colour names! For example, the Viper Green that everyone refers to is the solid 1972-73 colour, but there is a 1975-77 Viper Green which is a lighter metallic. Watch out for this!

Porsche colours are mixed up from generic Glasurit colours. If you don't have any joy getting samples from Porsche, any decent painter should be able to mix up the colour for you if you have the name, colour code and year. Though note that you might need to search for the German name - I couldn't find anything under 'Viper Green' on any paint charts but found it under 'Vipergruen'. I recently ordered an aerosol and some touch up paint through here http://www.paints4u.com/productsByCat.aspx?MainCat... - entered the paint code, year, colour name, ordered on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday, perfect paint match. You could order an aerosol, spray up on old panel, polish it up and see it in different lights.

I found these websites useful for old colour codes, then double checked them back to Peter Morgan's book:
http://cprclassic.com/reference/colorcharts/911.ht...
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_codes_...

Hope that helps you in some way - good luck!

You could be right but almost every other colour seems to be consistent in nearly all pictures, Riviera Blue for example, looks the same in all pictures.

Porsche also sent me this picture which didn't help as it isn't anywhere near the colour I'm looking for really;

I've asked if Porsche can send the OPC a sample so I can see it with my own eyes.....
It's true about riviera blue, but, look how much Speed Yellow varies! smile

Personally if I was buying a new car, I would fly out there and beg, cajole, do whatever it took to get the spec just 'so'

If you're going with a bright yellow/green, take a look at his page. Gelbgrun is an old Porsche colour from the 70s which I absolutely love.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technic...

My car is Gelb Grun (see profile) and it varies hugely depending on the light and massively in photos.

Definitely get as large a sample as you can, or see a car for yourself in the same colour.

Good luck!

I'd love to see a car but Porsche have said there isn't a single Light Green one in the country.....

That's Vesuvius, a rare but standard metallic on early 996.

Nice to see some love for unique colours, however interiors seem to still be dull.

Green is the hardest colour to accurately capture with a camera. Pale/ bright green even more so.
I had a Krypton green exige, and very rarely did I manage to capture it's true colour through the lens. In fact, I often had to tweak the levels in photoshop to get it to look 'right'. So I wouldn't worry that you are seeing different 'shades' of the same paint code on pictures from the net.

Also re the paint names and codes. I have found to always rely on the paint code rather than the alphbetical name, as often the names vary between paint manufacturers and geographical regions.

Thanks for that!

I think I really need to see it with my own eyes to be able to make a decision!

If you are dealing with Solihull they have their own bodyshop so should be able to do a spray out of the colour for you without having to request one from Germany. I bought a batch of Speed Shapes for choosing a colour on a Dino 246 restoration project and was considering a 911 50th edition car at the time but could not get a sample of the Graphite grey to look at so had the bodyshop doing the Dino spray it out on a Speed Shape for me. Solihull had painted one of Porsche's colour panels in the other unique 50th Edition colour of Geyser grey so you can see how the two methods of displaying the colour compare. The Speed Shape really does show how light will interact with the colour on the curved surfaces of the car much better IMHO.

If you want to get a bit of the exterior colour on the interior of the car I'd suggest sticking with the GTS interior package with silver stitching but ask for the GTS logo in the headrest to be stitched in the Acid green thread as a special request. That will stand out really well as a focal point for the eye and be much cheaper than trying to stitch the entire interior in the Acid green.

Hi Everyone
I have ordered a PTS Cayman in Riviera Blue with full leather in Agate Grey/Pebble Grey from OPC Sheffield.
I have been given a provisional delivery date of March 2015 and the wait is a real pain, although at least the weather should be getting better for when I hopefully get the car.
I keep changing my mind on everything really, I was going to have in Guards Red but thought I really want it in an unusual colour, and I loved Riviera Blue, but doesn't stop me from second guessing myself all the time.
Oh well at least after Christmas I will be on countdown

That’s a very strong first post; good work!

Riviera Blue is a spectacular colour and a good friend has a 997 Turbo S in it; it looks superb!

I hope the wait isn’t too painful!

Stick with it PTS will help residuals and delivery although far away, is at the "right" time to get max enjoyment from the car - it will come round soon enough smile
