Wonder if you can help a friend in need. She has a 1990 carrera 4 cab that doesn't want to accelerate hard over 2000 revs. Could anyone recommend a specialist nr chelmsford Essex for a diagnosis ? Thanks in advance

My educated guess would be the distributor drive belt has snapped. Common issue

If you are right, she has been very lucky that it didn't stop on a dizzy point!

A bit late but I'd recommend Autostrasse in Coggeshall too. Looked after me fantastically for a couple of years.

They've been looking after mine since I got my first Porsche in 2006.

Autostrasse for me too from my Porsche days.

Easy to find. Just off the main road between Braintree and Colchester.

PSR in Bishop's Stortford also worth a look - inside of Hertfordshire, but only by about a mile, and are very good, though for older cars Autostrasse have an excellent reputation, and I'm not sure if PSR are quite so familiar with air-cooled models.

Howard Watts is pretty good with porsches, has dealt with a 959 and all sorts recently, might be a bit far for you from Chelmsford though - based in Boxford near Colchester

DSD. He is away now till Monday racing his '68 2.0 litre 911 at Spa. Knows the cars inside out! Workshop is at Billericay or can carry out diagnosis at Ford End where they have a workshop at Daves home.

Been using HP Motorsports for 15 years, excellent prices and standard of work and I know for a fact one of the well known Porsche Specialists actually uses them for work he can't figure out!

Which provided me with the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
If the force was not strong, may have left Porsche to it for good!
Now will only ever deal with good indies. Can u get better than knowing and talking to the person actually doing the work, rather than a service receptionist, doling the work out to any YTS lad, and covering up the cock ups.
Had my rant at the time so will not revisit the issues now.
