Currently on my second unit after buying one of these to replace Morpheous. Initially I was delighted and thought it a major step forward, but after a few days both units have lost the satellite more & more frequently and then seem to jam and not re aquire it. Thought it might be the Radio aerial in the centre of the Screen so moved it to the edge, but problem not solved. Tried an external antennae with no imoprovement. Now getting really frustrated - anyone else got any experience?

Mine gradually took longer to locate gps then totally lost the ability to function.phone them and they will tell you about the gps locater being the weak link. they will either replace the gps locater under warranty or charge you £75 if you are out of warranty. I got mine back it now works fine, blackspot were efficient but I really think this problem should have been resolved some time ago.

I had a similar problem with an Origin B1, but the B2 has been superb to date. I think it is just the GPS antennas; most are amplified and I guess they just don't last well and the amplification goes off the boil.

I had a RA1 in my Boxster / 996 C2 & it was perfect.
Now have a RA2 in my turbo & no problems at all.
My only gripe is that it doesn't work in my wife's car due to its type of windscreen, & I wanted it to be transferable from car to car so a bit annoyed at that.

I had a similar problem - Blackspot replaced it FOC for a new unit.

Steve

Just interested to know why you wanted to replace the Morpheous.

Hi Tiggy
I was very pleased with the morpheous, but coming back from South Wales suspected I had been caught by a mobile camera van on a clear NSL road on a beautiful summers day. I decided at that point that as well as the GSM for fixed cameras I wanted laser detection to try to warn me in these circumstances, though reading other peoples comments it seems that as I was the only vehicle in site I might have been zapped before I could react anyway. When its working I do like the speed measurement on the road angel, and the identification of different sorts of cameras (Specs in particular) rather than just the red lights and beep. When its not working it's roundly cursed. Stupidly, with the benefit of hindsight, I sold the morpheous to a colleague for £100.
