so much for the former query...
FWIW....Super Darius on Rennteam, reporting ensuing:
"Bad news...
From my source i got the confirmation the 991 GT3 RS will be NOT in Geneva and delivery to customer will NOT start in summer of this year, all will be postponed .So like other rumors of latest days i think will be unveiled at Paris auto salon with delivery end 2014"

One of the main reasons going to Geneva was to see the RS......

From Car & Driver....seems the manual option is getting some serious re-consideration

this will never happen....(and I don't need to call a friend on this one)they tried a stick shift box in the GT3 under development...just did not gel with the motor like the PDK does, not even close..

How much faster does this one catch fire than the non RS version - assume the delivery delay is longer and the recall is quicker too - hope so or what's the point of the RS ? Looks a big old bus. Aero interesting but - like ceramics requires tyre grip to make the most of it. I'm keen to see how the under body aero works - if any - because the lack of an effective rear defuser is effecting the car in GT categories.
No doubt the ever shortening gear ratios of each new RS ( lots of scope with the auto box) will be a major factor in performance gains
Shall wait for this car with interest.

The problem with running a car like this is - ceramics, 21inch wheels, 500bhp and 1450-1500kg - it's going to be a very expensive car to track. Possibly comparable with tracking a 997 cup which will be a much quicker alternative.
Not trying to P**** on anyone's fire - I have one on order - but for me at least it's a big factor

respectfully Steve, why is this....I have had CCBDs on all my cars for the past, what 10 years or so.. on my 12c 620bhp, 1450kg, I did over 14 full on track days, even current F1 driver drove a few times, my son also Formula Renault, basically battered the F, out of the car. We only used one set of pads, the CCBds were fully checked prior to selling the car, all were well within tolerance.I should add, that a cooling down lap was done at all times, before coming in.
I was playing around in a a 991 cup car yesterday, the 1st one, the Cup R, runs on CCBDs

You're not trying hard enough!! I did the rear ceramics and 2 sets of pads in 2 trackdays with my 12C. That is the problem with Ceramics, they are great on road, but on track you are actually better getting well cooled steels.
I can only speak as I find, I take it you were aware that there was a prob with CCBDs on 12cs, 12,13. Both my cars were replaced.at low miles.
